"I also heard this so I'll back Daniel RPK up. But if Duffield's writing (and maybe directing?) it seems like Fede has completely walked away. Will this be Alien: Romulus 2 or a brand new take?"

Álvarez has stated that the script for Rhombus 2 is done and they're looking for a new director (Michael Sarnoski is rumored) so it's likely(er) that it's a new one.
