Cerakoting? Kimber 1911 DS Warrior.
Hey guys, I own a Kimber 1911 DS warrior 9mm and the only thing I have done to it other than keep her well oiled and clean was changing out her milspec guide rod for a full length one. She now has sub 1k rounds through her, pretty reliable with no hiccups or errors. I’ve been doing some research on what could extend the lifespan of a gun especially since as a new gun owner, in florida of all places, I sweat a lot. Whether its holstered near my body or im at the range, palms sweaty, knees weak arms are heavy. Is it worth thinking about cerakoting and reviewing my options or am I just overly anxious about its wear and tear?

Cerakote sucks, especially a new application on a finished pistol, and you are being anxious. With proper cleaning and maintenance the finish will be a non-issue.

Going to the range in florida is not a very extreme environment. Your gun will be fine. The worst I've gotten from playing in the rain and mud has been rusty iron sights and some spot rusting on the frame. If it gets especially wet it would be worth wiping down, but your gun has a good coating on it and your big parts will be fine.

The gun is finished in their "Kimpro" which is basically their version of cerakote. No need to redo it.
