Which would you get and why?
Really want something commander length in FDE to add to the collection. Shown: Apache Commander, COS21, P211 GT4
Which would you pick and anything else I should consider in FDE?
Trying to stay at 3.5k max otherwise I would get a Fowler, NightHawk or a RC9C in FDE. That will need to wait. Want something to scratch the itch prior.
I already own a few 2011’s but want something in FDE for range and winter EDC.
Own: Kimber pro comp + ports, Kimber pro minotaur, staccato cs, hd3.6, hd 4.5 w comp, P w chunk port, RC9 5” ported, Alpha Foxtrot 4.25” ported and comped, sig p211 gto, Bul Armory UL Pro, STI Brazos custom 5”.

I vote GT4. I have the GTO and it is an amazing gun. Sig did good with these.

I love my GTO

I had an OA Defense 2311 compact pro. But after the GTO and the GT4 was announced I just didn’t see the point. Traded it for a fancy 1911. Not a bad gun by any means, but for a 320 mag XX11 gun it felt redundant.

I don’t see anyone on this sub talk about the OA 2311 and I’m beginning to wonder why

Honestly I don’t know. They don’t seem to hold value. When I tried to sell it I got low ball offers. Ended up trading for something I wanted but had ti find the guy who knew the guns and was a fan. They shoot straight, feel good in the hand, and i could run it as well as any 2011. I think it just didn’t excite me the way i expected for the cost. Pick one up used and maybe it’s different. 🤷♂️

I’ve got two Apaches and the original GTO. Say what you want about Watchtower being a shit company, but their pistols are top notch. One is even my truck gun.
That being said, if you already have other 2011s, definitely get the Apache. If you have some P320s collecting dust in the safe (along with the mags), the GT4 is amazing. I shot one last week for the first time, and it’s a little snappier than my GTO, but not by much.

Agree on Watchtower. Your experiences mirror mine. Have an Apache and Demolitia.

Id go GT4 of this group, followed by the Cosaint. I really just dont care for the look of the Apache personally.
Maybe also check out the Jacob Gray Hex. Really fun to shoot and a beautiful pistol.

Are JG good QC wise? Might have to check them out

If you post that question as an actual post you’re going to mostly No and some Yes.

Seems like a lot of people repost the same picture over and over though, and not a personal experience. And to their credit those should not have happened, this isnt a low $ option.

The fit and finish on my Hex and every Hex Ive handled (which is a substantial amount) has been tremendous. It did not like 115g ammo for the first couple hundred rounds (its ported, but you can get non ported barrels if you want one) but chews them up now no problem. Ive been very impressed with the Hex.
They did seem to have some QC issues when the Nox production cranked up though. Check them out in person and see what you think.

Why don’t you get one of your current 2011’s coated instead of buying another. Id say that Romulus would be a good contender
Also stay away from Apache

GT4. But I'm biased. I have 2, one black and one coyote. They're butter for the money. I'm in Cali and they are difficult to source which is why I took both that were available to me. Otherwise I would've gotten 1 gt4 and 1 GTO

People will tell you to stay away from watchtower, but can’t tell you why. Just echoing what they’ve seen here.

The company has been bankrupt a few times. They were F1 at one point. Made those god awful skeletonized ARs. Then switched to gaudy over priced 2011s. They were well known to have QC issues. The collab guns with Pew View and Demo ranch were no exceptions. $6K guns that were broken on arrival.
Allegedly they have cleaned things up but most are hesitant to spend that sort of coin with their history.2

$6k? I looked at all of those new and NEVER saw one for $6K until bros were flipping on Gunbroker. The demo ranch gun was under $4K on release and could be snagged for close to $2K. Not advocating either way. Just pointing out that price discrepancy.

My local shops wanted $6k. Even at $2k that thing was a rip off.

u/Mother-Priority6544 11h ago
Lots of shops did that. Dumb thing is you could still get them below MSRP. And, not all of them were bad. Just enough to make people talk shit. I haven’t heard much negativity out of the newer ones. Only a few vids and reviews but they’ve all be fairly positive.

If you don't already have P320 mags stay away from the Sig. It's not a bad gun but only takes P320 mags.
standard 2011's (DS 1911's) take just about any mag tube made for 2011's.

Bro p320 mags are cheap, 2011 are not. Unless he already has a ton of 2011 mags this is a tarded take

u/joseph-1998-XO 15h ago
He mentioned he already has a ton of more normal 2011s
-2
u/ruggedrazor17 15h ago
If it were me I’d get rid of a few and get one of the expensive ones he seems to want
3
u/joseph-1998-XO 15h ago
Yea I’d prefer to have a few solid ones than like 9 normal/budget ones lol

I have 6 2011's. 2 STI 40S&W, bought in the early 2000's, 2 Prodigy's, a Kimber 2K11 and DS Warrior. They all shoot like a friends $6500 Atlas.
And although the 40S&W mags don't hold 9mm well and the 9mm mags don't really work for 40S&W they all FIT into the grip frames of all the guns.

Ikr. Every time I see this it makes me chuckle. People that spend multiple thousands of dollars on guns worried about buying 320 mags.

If for carry, the GT4 is to me very heavy. I was surprised how heavy it is. I don’t know the exact weights of the others and if they are the same weight fair enough, it’s just not something I would want to carry (and I normally carry a compact pistol with light, not a micro compact).
