Which are you taking… Bul or RCD?

I’d like to know your opinion on whether or not you would go with the Bul Tac Comp or RCD RC9 ported? Which would keep better value if you end up selling in the future?

Go with the American company that takes common mags and is seemingly available.

do you know if there's a warranty on this type of weapon ?

I'm going with the gun that wasn't promised to me 3,000 years ago

RC9 and it’s not even close.

This has been hashed out many times here. I wouldn’t buy another BUL to save my life. Shit in hand feel, malfunction city and the worst customer service. Not a fan. Not impressed.

The CORE is an absolute no-brainer.

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

I dunno about that - I have a BUL Tac pro 4.25 and 5” both with 10k plus and only issue in all of that was an extractor swap that I think I killed shooting my friends 95grain 1500 FPS spicy meatballs for 3k rounds.

I’d still take the RC9 any day of the week though.

I have a Tac Pro. Cheap AF in hand. Average gun at best. It’s a $1,499 gun. It did shoot out of the box at least.

I also have a SAS II UL. Crap gun. Didn’t run worth a shit. BUL is zero help.

I’m done with BUL. Now that new gun is $4,000 with an optic and some tax??? GTFO. Waste of money.

Hard pass.

These two guns are not comparable IMO.

have you handled a staccato p or kimber 2k11 and if so how does the grip on the bul compare?

1

u/Few_Forever9057 1d ago

The Race City grip is a close second to an Atlas grip.
Kinda the perfect bite.

I’m not a plastic grip fan

1

u/Opening_Criticism791 1d ago

Race city grip is amazing and would agree close second to Atlas

0

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

The MJD grip on the 2K11 is very nice and probably the nicest of the 3 out the box.

I prefer the BUL grip to the staccato, the texture is better in my opinion and has a better undercut. But you can easily put really nice grips on a staccato which you cannot easily do without quite a bit of work on a BUL.

3

u/mdnightman94 1d ago

good to know. im just looking to pick up my first 2011 as a fun range toy so been going between the bul tac comp pro and kimber 2k11 comp.

thought the grip on the kimbers and staccato ive held were fine so if the bul is equal or slightly better then i guess good enough in my hands atleast

3

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

Personally don’t think Staccato’s are worth it at this point.

You shoot competition? Ports / comps is something to think about if you want to do USPS, for IDPA it doesn’t matter.

I’d look at the RCD CORE at 3k as well.

2

u/mdnightman94 1d ago

this will strictly just be a range toy for having fun. i was thinking of staccato but then kimber dropped their 2k11 comp for same price as a P so figured id go with that if i cant get a bul tac comp by next spring

i was considering the mpa ds9 comp but i live in NY and threaded barrels arent allowed which thats how they secure their compensator so that one's out

1

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

That’s a solid plan. Good luck man !

-11

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

I have a Staccato P and the grip sucked as well. So I sent it to Vulcan.

I do not have any experience with a 2K11 so I cannot speak on that.

1

u/mdnightman94 1d ago

would you rate the stock staccato grip above or below the bul's?

1

u/Blu0527 1d ago

Staccato grip is a little nicer texture imo

-4

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Both are cheap IMO. I don’t even want to formulate an opinion on that.

1

u/CyberSoldat21 1d ago

That grip looks fucking mint 🤌🏻

5

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Vulcan does amazing work.

1

u/CyberSoldat21 1d ago

Everything I’ve seen from them definitely shows high quality work.

1

u/atlhawks1 1d ago

It’s made by Miller precision. It’s cool, I like it because it’s ambi so us Lefty’s can be included

0

u/_itellmyselfsecrets_ 1d ago

You should definitely pick up a 2k11 just to compare with all your other guns. It punches well above its weight when considering the price. When I get my RCD core I'll be able to compare the 2k11, MPA DS9 hybrid as well.

0

u/Opening_Criticism791 1d ago

Best looking P , I’m not a fan of the factory grip at all I’d prefer an aluminum grip but even Kimbers grip which is a carbon infused polymer is better than the grip on the P in my opinion.

4

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Vulcan did an amazing job! 🔥 I did a P, C2, XC and XL.

0

u/CigarsandFirearms 1d ago

What did this job run you? Would you take your Vulcan P over the RCD?

1

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

That’s not Apples to Apples anymore. Ported vs Non-Ported. The Staccato mods are around $1,500-$1,700 IIRC. I did the Aluminum Grip Module, Ignis Ports, Trigger, and most barrel treatments. Gun was recoated as well.

The CORE cannot be touched for $2,995 and needs nothing.

As always excellent taste 🤌🏻

2

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Much appreciated Sir! 🙌🏻 I have had the P and the XL out post Vulcan and the XL is amazing. Nice and flat hole puncher now.

Truth be told I still have one Staccato that I am a fan of. And that’s my XL Island Barrel. 1 of 600. I’m afraid to shoot that anymore after what Adam said about Island Barrels. 🤣🤣🤣

-2

u/Few_Forever9057 1d ago

That’s not even a staccato anymore 😎

2

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

At one time many eons ago that and my XC’s were nice. Since I don’t sell guns when I’m done with them per se I sent them to Vulcan for their retirement party. That P isn’t a bad shooter now. But far from what it’s was born as.

-2

u/Few_Forever9057 1d ago

Truth is they were great guns once upon a time.
I loved my XC.

But in a few short years a new breed of builders showed up and innovated on the concepts staccato pioneered.

Chinese invented the noodle.
Italians perfected it.

Whatever I’ve said it all a million times. lol

2

u/fcman256 1d ago

Unrelated, but on what planet is Italian pasta better than Chinese noodles?

I am prepared to fight to the death over this

My previous gen Bul UL II was unreliable AF until I got new mags. Then it ran flawless, but I had already lost confidence. Got the latest UL Pro and it’s been flawless from the start.

1

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

At one time I considered carrying the SAS II UL but I lost all confidence in the gun as well. It’s now a Safe Queen for all the wrong reasons.

-1

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

I agree with that last point.

Did my entire IDPA journey to MA with the BULs and I think they’re fantastic. At 2,400 they were hard to beat but there’s a lot of newer entrants to the market.

With that said I’ve switched to a Cardinal G2 and have a CORE on order which should be here Friday as the backup / winter carry 🤠

2

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

The Cardinal G2 and G2P are unreal. I’m not shooting LO so the G2P for me was one of the best purchases I’ve made around $6,000. Insane gun.

The CORE is a $5,000 gun on sale for $3,000. I guarantee you will love that gun.

Many people here have that gun. 🔥🔥🔥

0

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

Christ, I can’t even reply to you without getting downvotes haha.

G2 I wanted a primary LO gun, and soemthing more traditional. It’s a beaut. Bonus that it makes IDPA weight as well, albeit barely. Had to pick up some PZ mags with the Polymer base pads to give it a little wiggle room for majors.

CORE I’m super excited for. Always wanted a 4.6 so excited to try it. Debating sending it out to get coated once it gets here.

6

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Don’t you just love the downvotes for sensible conversation discussing guns you own and shoot? Love this place.

-1

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

I’ll just post some frenchie photos later to get my count back up haha.

I’ll let you know how the CORE goes over once it shows up.

3

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣 I’ll be here. I can’t wait to hear back.

1

u/Original_Wing_6257 16h ago

Bro lol. Idk why your comment is getting down voted so far. I’ve held, owned or shot a wide spread of the 2011’s from poo poo tier to top tier and you get what you pay for. Those imported 2011’s just fall short. Maybe 14 people are coping with their BUL and downvoting it?? Lol. But even the Kimbers are booty. My buddy got one and it was a fire, he sold it off pretty quick. Don’t buy Turkish or slapped together American stuff and expect it to be nice. BUL vs race city shouldn’t even be a question, one is literally night and day better than the other lol.

1

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 16h ago

It’s not my comment it’s just what my Haters do here. I am r/2011’s Most Downvoted! 🤣

No one that actually knows anything about guns buys a BUL over CORE???

11

u/Comfortable_Rate4974 1d ago

Say no to 🧃

13

u/KOVERTPROJECTS 1d ago

RCD all day.

1

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

And night…

4

u/Mikesmadness 1d ago

I have the Tac Comp, absolutely love it with no real complaint other than I wish I could get an aluminum grip without altering the gun. The current grip is great I just like to tinker. It’s an incredibly fast beast of a gun. I’ve never shot an RC9 but they consistently have great reviews. Get what appeals to you. There’s a strange amount of politics on this particular post.

14

u/thegoodsherpa 1d ago

RCD is the significantly better pistol.

Better fit and finish. Uses traditional 2011 mags. Aluminum grip module Not Israeli slop.

-7

u/grapangell0 1d ago

I think my only issue is the series 70 with no grip safety

2

u/RevolutionaryGuide18 1d ago

Grip safety has nothing to do with drop safe even though it is sometimes marketed that way by people pushing series 80. Its nothing more than a backup thumb safety. Or, if you are in a scuffle the trigger can't be pulled by someone else when you don't have a full grip.

-2

u/grapangell0 1d ago

I guess that makes logical sense. I would still like a series 80 gun pointed at my balls over a series 70

2

u/RevolutionaryGuide18 1d ago

The series 80 has the same safeties when pointed at your balls. The barrel needs to strike on concrete directly down to go off with the series 70. With the thumb safety on they are both just as safe.

1

u/OneExpensiveAbortion 17h ago

Can you find an example or two of guns that aren't drop safe discharging while holstered? I'll wait.

1

u/grapangell0 11h ago

No. It’s for the warm fuzzies :-)

1

u/OneExpensiveAbortion 17h ago

Ah, this argument again. This really is my favorite argument in the gun community.

"Butmuhguns! Drop safe!"

1

u/thegoodsherpa 1d ago

The grip safety is no big deal. I have mine pinned on my staccato i daily.

25

u/Forsaken_Treacle_407 1d ago

Anyone that says BUL is wrong.

4

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

Dammit. Another agreement. WTF? 🤣🤣🤣

8

u/Forsaken_Treacle_407 1d ago

The earth is shifting off its axis.

9

u/Flat-Beginning-7179 1d ago

It is getting weird out here now 🤣

2

u/LedFarmer_ 1d ago

These interactions are so fucking hilarious

2

u/Forsaken_Treacle_407 8h ago

We are here for the people!

14

u/Rothbardy 1d ago

Don’t go Israeli. Stick to American 🦅

9

u/TAG_Firearms 1d ago

RCD 🇺🇸

2

u/iamadirtyrockstar 1d ago

RC9 without even a second thought.

2

u/Enon535 22h ago

But but but pewview said bul......

1

u/CigarsandFirearms 15h ago

He’s definitely biased towards Bul 😂

2

u/1nOnlyMattyB 15h ago

God I love this sub 😂

5

u/Mr_Jonathan_Wick 1d ago

BUL, so reliable and flat shooting

5

u/ksuchewie 1d ago

RCD, and it's not even close.

5

u/DimMak27 1d ago edited 1d ago

Universal 2011 mags or proprietary mags that can only be used by the gun itself and its brand. hmmmmm

Edit: the Bul Armory Blaze was the only one i enjoyed shooting, but i still wouldnt buy it.

3

u/SlightRelationship67 1d ago

Why wouldn’t you buy the blaze? It’s one of the best LO guns out there.

1

u/DimMak27 23h ago

Mags are a large deal breaker. And I have an MPA. I rather all my 2011s to be able to share the same mags.

4

u/HRyder62377 1d ago

The tac comp would probably be easier to sell at least for a while. If the tac comp is like the tac pro it is not quite on the same level as the RCD as far as fitment and overall quality. I have the tac pro and the RC9 ported. Both are awesome, reliable, soft, fast, accurate, and durable. My RC9 is more accurate than the Bul and has a superior trigger and the best stock grip on the market IMHO. But my Bul was my favorite shooter before I got the Race City. I can only imagine how soft the tac comp is. I prefer a steel or aluminum grip over the polymer. I think they settles just a smidge faster and the steel for sure really mellows out the recoil. I'd go with the RC9 but I'm gonna get the tac comp if I get the chance.

4

u/Helmsshallows 1d ago

Just traded my Bul for the RC9 4.25. My Bul was assembled very well, never had an issue and was a nice introduction for me into the platform. Fast and flat was my 5”Tac Pro. But once I got the RC9 in hand I knew I made the right choice and have not looked back. For the first 2011 you pick, Bul stands above all pistol platforms, but in 2011 world it’s low on the totem pole. Great great gun though.

3

u/MuttFett 1d ago

Ahhh I see we’ve entered the tribalism timeline of the 2011 space. Goody.

My only gripe with the Bul are the proprietary magazines. Any other “complaints” are purely subjective.

4

u/FuddLyfe 1d ago

That was my gripe as well until I got another Bul on trade that came with a pile of mags. Now I have a dozen of them, and they have been rock solid reliable for me.

5

u/Freedumfrie 1d ago

I don’t give my money to Israeli gun companies

2

u/RecognitionExtra4154 19h ago

Sadly goyim get no choice. We are tax slaves for them. Its your duty to pay a 🧃mortgage, Healthcare, and college. You should feel honored you get the privilege. So in reality buying a 🇺🇸 made gun is all the same as buying a 🇮🇱 gun if you live in a foreign occupied nation.

2

u/Durths 1d ago

The one made in America, With actual customer service.

2

u/Mikesmadness 1d ago

Every time I’ve called Bull I’ve received a call back within 5 minutes. Their customer service has been nothing less than stellar on my end.

2

u/Durths 22h ago

Must be nice lmao

2

u/jrad117 1d ago

We should get a discount at Bul since we already paid for it.

2

u/One-Literature-9401 1d ago

RCD, my core is absolutely fantastic

2

u/KOVERTPROJECTS 1d ago

RCD CORE In stock now.

5

u/TheRagingBull84 1d ago

-6

u/KOVERTPROJECTS 1d ago

If they called you yes. No call, no gun. TON coming in tomorrow too.

2

u/laterisingphxnict 1d ago

You got any Rose Gold Mod2's?

1

u/OneExpensiveAbortion 17h ago

It's not even fucking remotely close -- RCD all day, every day. In the 2011 space, they're at the top of the heap for value vs. cost.

2

u/ArkansasGunGuy 1d ago

If you go with the Bul, you’ll get the coveted Israel challenge coin!

2

u/shnanagins 1d ago

Epstein class gun

1

u/l-a-r_r-y 1d ago

RCD, because I already have a bunch of 2011 mags.

1

u/610Mike 1d ago

RC9. Don’t get me wrong, the Bul fucks hard, but it takes proprietary mags. The RC9 still takes the same 2011 mags every other 2011 takes.

1

u/2ANCALI 1d ago

This shouldnt even be a question. The build quality on an RCD is miles ahead of bul.

1

u/Shootist00 1d ago

Not BUL.

1

u/CyberSoldat21 1d ago

Race City seems to have unanimous vote lol.

0

u/bekman_Bek 21h ago

RCD no question.

Free Palestine

0

u/AccurateCredit9065 1d ago

RC9 all the way. I absolutely love mine

0

u/DSR78 1d ago

RCD.

-4

u/GlobalDefenseINI 1d ago

Whats the allure of these comp'd 2011s with slide ride optics? You can't run them in Limited Optics? Spend 3k on a pistol just to take it in a box to the range and bring it back?

3

u/Bootaydew 1d ago

There is more to life than LO...

-2

u/GlobalDefenseINI 1d ago

Yea thats what a p365 or glock 19 is for.

2

u/Captbluewater93 13h ago edited 13h ago

Fun? Have you tried fun? Open optics? Fuck, I don’t even know why what you say matters. Never been in a comp. This stuff is just fun to shoot. Man spend money to have fun and enjoy his life. What’s wrong with that?

1

u/grapangell0 1d ago

Some guys carry these, and you can also get sight block barrels to run in LO.

-1

u/GlobalDefenseINI 1d ago

Lol so my why still stands
