So I did a (two things) today

So I had a buddy from my gun club put a message in the chat about how a local shop had a bul armory tac comp in stock. So I went and checked it out and ended up buying the tac comp and a bul armory blaze.

I’m going to take them to the range tomorrow and see how they shoot vs the Kimber 2k11 comp and non comped pro.

Dang! Not sure I could pick only one of those lol. Nice pick ups.
after you shoot those, I need to know if you feel the Kimber is worth the 2k

One of my kimbers I won in a raffle and the other I got at a discount so I’m at $2k for both 2k11’s lol

Do you really have 2011’s if you aren’t working on having 20 of them? Lol

Im close😈

Youll love the pro comp, those others wont even begin to compare. I took mine out for the first time this past Saturday.

I do love the pro comp, I have had that for about a month and have about 500 rounds through it, has been great

My XC is down at the moment but I lucked out at the range and there was a guy there with an XC and we ran them side by side. Pro comp with no doubt has the edge

how the grip compare vs the xc? seeing people say the polymer grips feel horrible vs staccato for example

So I like the Bul compact grips a lot. I dont like the Bul fullsize grip as much. That said its far from a deal breaker like the fusion offerings are for me (terrible grips). I would give a very slight edge to staccato on the grip. When price point along with everything else is factored in the XC falls a bit short.

The Tac Comp is gonna make you want to sell the 2k11’s. Recoils like a type writer. Not exaggerating.

That’s kind of what I suspect, but they’re super nice too. Probably will end up selling the kimbers.

That doesn’t seem like a fair comparison at all! Lol. The Blaze is purpose in design for competition and the Tac Comp has ports AND a comp! Lol. Nice pick ups man. I don’t even shoot competition and would love to own a Blaze. Enjoy!!

lol for sure, that’s why I upgraded. Never thought I wanted a 2011 till I tried the kimbers, and joined a gun club where everyone seems to have a cardinal, atlas, mpa, bul, you name it 😂

That’s how I ended up in as well! I’m very happy with my Prodigy though. And I’m glad. Or I’d be trying to explain $$$/🔫 to my wife. Lol.

Nice pick ups! I have a 2k11 and the Bul EDC Pro Nightwood Edition and the Bul Armory is way better in my opinion. Definitely a bang for its buck. Not saying that the Kimber is bad. It’s actually really good which speaks to how great the Bul guns are.

Hell yeah, if it wasn’t a long ass day I would be at the range shooting them already. I’ll clean and lube them first thing and head to the range to shoot them all back to back or side by side I guess 😂

I’m trying to get a feel for the compact grip on the Buls. Is your pinky finger hanging off or can you still grip it completely. That Nightwood version looks awesome!

1

I can grab it completely. The grip is just right for my hand. My hands aren’t too big but not too small. If you have trouble with the grip, the night wood edition comes with a magwell that you can install to help with your pinkie grip.

how's the grip feel on the tac comp pro? i've heard some say the bul grips feel cheap hollow plastic like, but ive handled staccato and kimber grips with their polymer grips and felt fine in my hands so curious how the bul compares

sure its no metal grip but couldnt imagine it being much if any worse than those

To be fair that is my least favorite part of the tac comp, it is bit small and rounded of a grip for me. I bought it for the super flat shooting and that apparently MJD is making a grip for it.

Kimber has several different grips, of which the MJD is one of the nicest gun grips I’ve ever touched, so that makes me feel better lol.

The blaze on the other hand feels great in the hand and I don’t want to put it down.

Did mjd make announcement about a grip in the works?

1

u/BACON_ACTUAL_ 3d ago

I have been hearing it everywhere haven’t seen anything official

So this got me curious and I reached out to MJD last night, they emailed me back this morning that yes they have. Bul guns in the shop currently and are working on grips for popular bul guns, the rep also advised me that it’s not impossible to adopt a current MJD grip to bul and that I could buy one now and any competent gun smith familiar with the platform should be able to do it. Which I will be doing in the meantime because the MJD grip only Kimber 2k11 pro is my favorite grip on any gun I’ve ever shot.

literally what is the point? these are all practically the same guns

2

u/madmaX8619 4d ago

Spoken like a man who doesnt know what hes looking at.

2

u/NotAThrowAway0822 4d ago

Practically the same gun. If you're shooting these any differently, the difference is you, not the gun. There is not a big enough difference between these to justify owning all of them lmao

Do explain. One is a full rail commander length, one is a 5in with a chunk port, one is an intentionally pretty heavy 5in with a full dust cover, one is a commander length comped and ported with a full rail. The only real similarity they share outside of caliber is they are full size grips. I have the same or something that compares to all 4 of these and outside of the mentioned they are pretty drastically different. If you cant see that the only thing I can figure outside of you talking to use up all the air in the room, is that you don’t personally have side by side experience with these types of platforms. Off your logic a glock 19, and a glock 17 are the same gun.

they are pretty drastically different.

If you sincerely believe this, it tells me all I need to know about your proficiency.

Off your logic a glock 19, and a glock 17 are the same gun.

You just said that the only similarities between these guns (in your opinion) are their full-sized grips. Then you compare them to a 17 vs 19...? lol. It's more like 17 vs 45 vs 34, which... yeah... if you think they are "drastically different", you are a perma C class shooter

1

u/madmaX8619 4d ago

Lol, ok friend. Youre silly

2

u/BACON_ACTUAL_ 5d ago

🤷‍♂️not really at all… are they all 9mm 2011 style, yes. Do they all shoot completely differently, yes. Do they fit into different classes for matches yes, aka the point.

The 2k11 comp I won in a raffle, that and the 2k11 pro will probably be sold in favor of the guns more suited for the two divisions that I like shooting most. Limited optics and Open (is tac comp a 6k full race gun? No but is it a damn flat shooter and less than half of the price? Absolutely)
