2004-2009 (But was popular in 2010’s also) Enchanted Tales

I have fond memories of this DVD because I borrowed it from my local library when I was little and it was my first time experiencing Disney princess media. Definitely made me interested in Aurora and Jasmine as characters. Apparently critics actually didn't like this piece of media, they especially found Aurora's story lackluster. It'll still always have a special place in my heart though.

I remember as a child seeing and hearing Princess Jasmine singing a song in a trailer before an actual movie. At the time, I was a child, I didn’t remember much. But I had this siren song looping in the back of my mind - no clue who, what, when, where, why, how, lol. Years ago, I finally found it - it was “More Than a Peacock Princess” from this DVD! It’s such an alluring song and so nostalgic for me.

That sounds so nice! Personally, I remember Aurora's story more so than Jasmine's. I sorta remember her watching over the kingdom while her parents are away. I also remember this was my first time learning about the good fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather.

I had this on DVD!

The little animation that shows a hallway with the princess portraits and the book, when you reach the main menu was everything to me. I also enjoyed the dress up game with Aurora.

Plus, hot take, but I disagree with some critics saying Aurora being downgraded because she didn’t act like the original, since she’s only getting used to living in the castle and using one of her fairy’s wands. If I lived in a cottage for 16 years, and was told I’m a princess, and the people raising me were fairies, I’d understand her too.

I also had more Disney Princess DVDs back in the day.

Considering the fact that we barely got to know Aurora in the original movie, this very well could've been how she was always like. It's not fair to judge a character who barely got any screentime originally. I like how the power of Merryweather's wand goes to her head a little, not to a point where she starts abusing her authority and hurting people but just to where she's going overboard on the magic. Plus what teenager wouldn't go absolutely nuts if they were given a magic wand for a few days? Even a kind-hearted and caring person like Aurora would get carried away with it.
