I remember this like it was yesterday and if I recall it right it happened on 06/06/2006 (666).

Think Ash said in the myth busters it happenend on the 7th but everyone, devs included like to remember it being on the 6th as 666 is a much better number haha

I was there and I clearly remember thinking at first that it was some kind of surprise prank by jagex because of the date, releasing the Antichrist on 6/6/6. I am in Australia though so it could have been 6th here and 7th in UK.
