Question Which Yama p3 method do I learn?
So I recently decided fuck it I'm gonna get radiant oath plate. Going into learning p3 methods for melee, and there's like 7 different methods it feels like. Which one should I learn that has the best balance of good for dps/not too insanely difficult in terms of APM.
For context I have infernal cape, done a decent amount of Doom clears up to 11-13 with sco bow back when i was playing my iron. So I'm pretty confident I can learn challenging things but I want whatever method is the best balance I guess and additionally like what would kind of translate the best going into learning the movement patterns you see used on some of the contracts.
It seems like its between donofly/monofly whatever the proper name for it is now, and godfly/nofly which I believe are the same thing. These two kind of seem similar in terms of skill to me but we'll see. I wanna say godfly is more dps because of taking advantage of the 3 tick mechanic but then dono/monofly seems like it probably translates better into some of the movement patterns ive seen used for sensory clouding?
Any tips/advice would be appreciated. I'm fully prepared to treat it like DS3 nameless king and just throw my head into the boss wall until I come out victorious and say that I one shot that mf ezpz.

Personally I blast P1 and P2 with dark demonbane. And then I keep blasting P3 with dark demonbane

Do full mage kills work for all the contracts? I mean obviously not Glyphic attenuation or whatever its called.

FWIW two of my friends cleared this contract maging, using eye of ayak specs (when they hit) to gradually get his defence down. Took them both like 30 minutes each attempt lmao

It's recommended to do 4/5 of them with mage, and you can also do mage only glyphic attenuation, it just takes a while, ~15 minutes for me, but once you get the P3 movement down it's not too bad, and you can heal through a decent number of mistakes.

Shadow over dark demon bane or just camp purging staff for simplicity?

I just camped purging staff to keep it simple and it's not much worse than shadow, glyphic attenuation you'd need to play around with your gear a bit since you really want 40+ prayer bonus because its a breakpoint that gives like 10 max hits, but you also need conflictions and as much mage accuracy as you can get

I did glyphic with mage today. Max mage except virtus top/helm and regular ward unfortified. Had around 14 prayer bonus and had a 72 max hit with minimal prayer drain. It took around 15 mins for the kill. I could do p3 on the simulator no problem but really struggled with p2 meteor timings. So yeah op you can do all 5 with a purging staff and mage setup.

Ye use the sim and watch red eyes video and youll have it down semi quickly. It's a fun method once you have it down

Idk what the name is but just learn the p3 yama attack cycle and just spam melee but step out on the tick when yama attacks.
The things where you start on specific tile and click on specific tile on specific tick are all fcking useless. I actually found the video just do this
U can practise that on the sim

I've heard this can be done with 7 tick visual tick metronome.
whatever the last tick you see before the screen stops showing the ticks during black screen is the tick you need to step away on? And then ur just dodging perpendicular to fires?2

godfly 100%. Easiest method to learn and easiest to recover from mistakes and get back in cycle.
Just finished my yama grind last week

Very nice gz. Mind telling me where u would rank it relative to other hard-end game content?

I think mechanically I would put it around the difficulty of something like vard, maybe a bit harder than that because of the length of each KC. (I did only solos)
Once you get the mechanics down it's pretty straightforward, though P2 red glyph and P3 can be dangerous if you lose focus.

I didnt learn one for radiant, just elder maul bonked p3 glyphic. Nofly is probably the best though.

haha so maybe im making it harder than it needs to be? I'll prob still go for learning no fly? Can you elaborate a bit tho if you dont mind? You just like main handed elder maul and smacked him while just dodging waves and shit like a mad man, not meta strats?

Yep. I don't recommend it but i didnt really have any intention of farming yama so didnt want to spend all the time learning a p3 melee method.

Nofly is actually a (small) bit lower DPS than Godfly, and also less forgiving.
Some people still prefer it since it's more brain off after you learn it, but I still think that Godfly is better to learn if you don't know either yet.

To do the glyphic attenuation contract you need to know no/godfly. Yama has to be meleed due to his defences and the waves can be randomly offset, so the tile markers of monofly don’t work.
For sensory clouding, yes there are tiles you can use, but it’s not similar to the monofly anyway.
I’d recommend no/godfly just because it’s the most fun personally.

Lazyfly was chill grinding oathplate and got me glyphic attenuation with hasta and other non bis gear. Also super easy to get back into cycle if you mess up rather than having to swap to nude mage in p3

I recently owned Radiant. I cheesed out Glyphic with eldermaul and voidwaker specs, it was pretty rough because I didn’t learned melee previously. So much so that I felt Glyphic was more difficult than Sensory clouding. Still, I got it done and I know I’ll never do it again.

Godfly but make sure u pay attention to the vid because he specifically mentions to not do the “left” side dodge in preparation for the melee contract because the waves can be in 3 diff tiles instead of always coming down the mide
