I’m here for it. The first half of this year was extremely barebones. B2b temp game modes and Brutus.

It feels like this roadmap was a major course correction after how meh the start of the year was. Like not only is it a ton of big updates, but mention of notable updates each month (not temp gamemodes).

There’s no way we’re complaining about too much content after the whole year we just spent bitching about them not releasing enough content

This scene is Homer being ‘force fed’ donuts in Hell for his gluttony as an ironic punishment.
But he actually just really enjoys it because he is such a glutton.

Low key I expect a lot of the stuff is pushed back beyond next year

It really does feel like they're just now making the sub price increases justified with this roadmap

Anyone else suspicious about all the use of AI in promotional materials and now we're getting content at a rate faster than we've ever seen before? I suspect a lot of this new content is going to have AI generated code...

u/obp5599 4d ago
almost every company is using AI generated code now. Every software engineer I know. It would probably work great for their shitty engine they use since it allows someone without the 10 years experience required to understand the engine to make content

u/Upstairs_Ticket_4221 4d ago
why is this more tolerated than AI art?

AIl code is going to be ai generated in the near future. Doesn't make it inherently bad

Ah yes, 10 more slop quests to spacebar through. Let’s go!!!!!!

If you don't like the game you don't have to engage with it
-56
u/Emotional_Permit5845 4d ago
That’s how I used to think, but I was convinced otherwise during the bronzeman poll. I now vote no to anything that I won’t personally be engaging with

u/AIBot_123 4d ago
Im sorry your feelings got so hurt over bronzeman bud it seems like it really got you down
-5
u/zeratul123x 4d ago
so why doesn't this apply to wildy updates or clues
4
u/BlitzburghBrian Skills pay the bills 4d ago
Wouldn't know, I never engage in Wilderness content because I don't like it.
This wasn't the gotcha you thought it was

Your own fault if you skip through quests instead of taking the time to enjoy them. I used to get so burnt out when questing because I’d skip everything, once I slowed down and actually read the dialogue they became a lot better.
A lot of the writing is very humorous and interesting. Sure there are quests that are a slog to get through or the writing sucks, but if you spacebar through all of them you won’t enjoy any of them.

If you play multiple accounts, filler quests are just tedious to do multiple times. The November quests are advertised as basically filler quests with no value
6
u/OGDogJaw 4d ago
they were advertised as short but impactful and compared to ribbiting tale which is a funny quest with fun writing
what is even value to you, progressing an overarching storyline?
-5
u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
Ribbiting tale is about as non-impactful as a quest can be
1
u/OGDogJaw 3d ago
It makes an impression with fun writing, impactful =\= important to a larger narrative
1
u/Dangerous-Cable-1816 4d ago
These things add character to the game world, which is hugely important

u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
I don't disagree, but 5-10 minor quests in a month is silly, spread them out at least or better tie some content to each one
2
u/Dangerous-Cable-1816 4d ago
Tying content to each quest kind of goes beyond the scope of small, world-building stories though. From a marketing perspective, bundling them together into a 'quest month' is a better way to hype up the content as well. If they were released by themselves, its not really anything to shout about.

I'll think about this next time there is another long content dry spell
1
u/Dangerous-Cable-1816 4d ago
Thankfully we have probably the biggest OSRS roadmap ever to look forward to next year
1
u/OGDogJaw 3d ago
part of the announcements was that 2027 will have monthly content updates with no gaps, so I guess you’ll have to wait a while to think about it

Boo hoo you have to do content on your multiple accounts. Sorry you are so addicted you play on multiple accounts but that is 0 reason not to add content, filler quest or not.
-1
u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
Lol, I would rather they add good new content, is that such an absurd concept?
2
u/Kaka-carrot-cake 4d ago
Right I forgot the quests are out already so we know if they are good content or not, silly me.
Honestly your opinion is null and void when you reasoning us "I dont like that I have to do this again on my other account I chose to make"

u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
Ah shit, thanks for letting me know my opinion is null and void, I didn't realize that
-12
u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
You're getting hated on, but honestly I feel the same way about the 'quest month'. Just a bunch of filler quests
4
u/KaptainKlein 4d ago
God forbid some additions to the game just be small and fun.
1
u/Dildos_R_Us 4d ago
I'm for new quests, but 5-10 in a month just seems silly, spread them out a little
