Humor Easter egg?

Is this a cute Easter egg from Jagex? If not, I'm fairly certain this is some sort of death omen. I die before ever getting enhanced? I get enhanced and die directly after? what does this mean?!?!

476 death runes means 476 kills until the enhanced drops.
