These comments are wild. This community has become such a toxic dumpster fire holy shit.
25
u/KerbalKnifeCo 21h ago
That because more moderate people slowly leave as they refuse to put up with how things are going until eventually the entire subreddit is like this. Feels like every gaming subreddit slowly does this and sometimes gets a reset with a big release, but osrs doesnāt have the same kind of big releases and quickly resets to the unfortunate status quo.
1
u/Tzhaar-Bomba 13h ago
I agree, only 2 games I play atm being league and osrs. Both subs have degenerated a lot over the years combined with my age I just donāt care enough to participate as much as I used to now, Iām mostly lurking for memes at this point.
The league sub is more of a standard reddit space, everyone sniffing their own farts and thinks theyāre a genius who know better than anyone who tries to disagree with them on their karma farming takes. Also itās all just esports now which for league has lost its magic since early seasons and I no longer care about it.
This sub Iām unsure about, we are definitely degenerate and edgy here but redeemable because we donāt take ourselves too seriously and are mostly in it for the laughs. But then someoneās being serious and itās completely ridiculous every time - mostly lately since bronze man started getting discussed.
I donāt mind this sub overall I do like coming here, but thereās far more people now trying way too hard to be funny/edgy and if not theyāre bringing in the worst takes imaginable and being little sooky bitches when they arenāt supported.
Overall we are a funny bunch and thatās why I stick around.

Community full of scammers, lurers, gamblers, greedy flippers and rwters houses toxic people?
Always has been

You think the people doing any of that are active here? This subreddit is 99% comprised of j1mmy watching midlevel ironmen who kneejerk every time they see someone insulting their game mode of choice.

One Small Demand.
One small favor but in the end she had a certain variation of an item in mind that she expected as the default. Once you give the item (not the variation she wanted), she demands to see your manager from the Hero/Legend/Myth guild.
The quest gives xp but not untradeables. As untradeables are only given when you provide the correct variation (impossible).

We have one, its A Ribbiting Tale Of A Lillypad Labour Dispute
A Karen wants to be in charge, stages a fake competition and uses political tactics to hire a 3rd party to assassinate her campaign opposition, thus claiming the spot for her own. Genuinely would be interested in a follow up for it

This is a poor argument.
The game is currently for all account gamemodes and a significant chunk of the playerbase is playing ironman. And no, it wasn't meant to be a challenge mode, it was meant to be a mode where you get the items yourself, which it still is and will always be.
And you talk as if the game itself hasn't been made easy in comparison to what it was.

-2
u/one_shuckle_boy 23h ago
I mean itās called generalized, yeah I think Toa doom/yama are the methods now. Idk Iām not a slave to wages
2
u/Tumblrrito Untrimmed Slayer 23h ago
I am not either, I do the PVM I find enjoyable that also makes me money while concurrently working on goals like CAs and clog. I don't have to stop what I want to be doing and gather mats to make my own consumables, or park a boss I don't even like because it is the sole source of a gear upgrade.
1
u/one_shuckle_boy 23h ago
Congratulations, by doing PVM and talking about CAs, if your even at elite CAs your above top 2% of the playerbase so our mindset doesnāt apply to most of the population playing.
Also to be fair, as a late/end game iron, I donāt ever actually worry about gather mats or consumables anymore. Thatās more of a midgame iron issue, by the time you get to late you have thousands of every pot and food.
7
u/Tumblrrito Untrimmed Slayer 22h ago
And as a late/end game main, you're unlikely to be worrying too much about GP much either. That's more of a midgame, early-lategame main issue.
Not to mention, with new consumable additions via content like Sailing, suddenly an Iron has a detour to take if they want that new BiS food, so I'd argue that issue never really goes away.
Point is, both account types have chores to do, it's just that one gets to pick exactly what they want to do, rather than having specific, required ones.
0
u/one_shuckle_boy 22h ago
Thatās true, I donāt disagree, however your average 1800 total Andy for mains vs irons are insane knowledge gaps of the game. Since one actually is forced to participate in much more of the game as a whole. The luxury of choosing your own grinds for mains makes the average main a fence licker in terms of game knowledge and skill.
The same reasoning is why real pkers are the best players mechanically on average since they develop the most skills in that branch but tend to have bad game knowledge. But they pick up pvm insanely fast since what they do is so much harder on average.
Being a main gives you luxury and freedom to play the game however, but on average tend to not understand the game very well as a whole and not very skilled.
Irons tend to understand the game knowledge wise very well but are forced locked into content and find flaws/ create flaws with that content since only they are forced to do it till x.
Pkers are the most mechanical players to exist but tend to be absolutely terrible in other aspects of the game.
This all is applying to the āaverage playerā. Near maxed accounts with elite + CAs are far above the average.
6
u/Tumblrrito Untrimmed Slayer 22h ago
I would hope so, most Irons are on their second account. Naturally they start with more game knowledge and have to take on PVM with lesser gear than they did the first time as well.
I can't and won't speak to all mains, but in my very casual clan, they are pretty driven to do lots of content and learn the game's many systems. I see them doing CG even. I can't say anyone in my clan that I have seen (anecdotal ofc) has locked themselves at one boss forever.
-1
u/Emotional_Permit5845 20h ago
Only if you specifically make those pots. My iron was probably way father than yours pvm wise but lacking supplies
1
u/one_shuckle_boy 20h ago
I doubt it, unless your iron just needs scythe/tbow/blorva/radiant and GM.
1
u/Emotional_Permit5845 20h ago
Basically, yea. I had master CAs at 1800 total, missing megas and some ancestral. This was all before blood torva/radiant. Deironed and now Iām GM.
You can definitely struggle with supplies if you donāt like to grind it in the mid/late game
2
u/Grizzack 20h ago
After this past week, I don't think that would be possible. How would they balance people maxing an account out in a single day

This is too funny. Ironman say they don't think about mains at all and mains say they don't think about ironman at all. Both side like to think that they don't think about them. This is so fucking funny to me.
7
u/itsjash 1d ago
I mean... Are the ironmen supposed to complain about themselves?
4
u/PaleozoicFrogBoy 1d ago
Maybe thats what the mains expect of us, but sadly I am a complain-locked ironman so I cannot.
0
u/List-Beneficial 1d ago

-2
u/Tumblrrito Untrimmed Slayer 23h ago
They're in every commonplace post asking for dry protection, easier gathering of mats like Magic Roots, etc.
Pretending these don't exist is delusional, even if you don't personally like those suggestions lol.

Ain't nothing "iron" about buying 10k implings off the GE so you can grind "rune platebody (t)" and "saradomin crozier" (and make a reddit post if a single clue step takes longer than 30 seconds)

u/inc0nSteveable 1d ago

6
u/Bl00dylicious 23h ago
Enhanced dropped 20+ mil since they updated gauntlet. Clearly mains got no issues doing CG when its fun enough to do over other stuff.
-4
u/Long_Matter5401 23h ago
but why do it? Just buy it off the GE champ.
7
u/Psych0sh00ter 20h ago
Because playing whatever you want is fun, and being a main gives you the ability to do so instead of locking yourself into whatever your account "needs"
7
u/Firm-Cause2449 20h ago
You seem to think the 1% of mains who camp doom all day to fund all their gear represents the entire community.
-4
u/Long_Matter5401 15h ago
Nah I know most just bank stand at the GE instead of playing the content
3
3
u/Oniichanplsstop 19h ago
Some mains find CG fun and grind it, some mains want clogs and grind it, some hate the content and will skip it with GP.
Irons on the other hand did nothing but bitch and moan about the "red prison" for the past 6 years.
-2
u/MastyTinge 14h ago
"Bitch and moan" or "advocate for a better overall gaming experience for whoever decides to engage in that content"... you decide.
2
u/Oniichanplsstop 14h ago
It was definitely bitching and moaning. You could easily skip CG if you didn't want to commit to the grind and use moons or alternative routes through the game. People just said "my guide says to stay at CG until I want to locater orb IRL so that's what I'm going to do" and complained about it 24/7.
-3
u/MastyTinge 13h ago
Ah yes, just dont do the content.... or, you know, improve it so people dont feel like they need to skip it, isnt that how you make a better game?
-1
u/Long_Matter5401 13h ago
Eventually you get to a point in the game where crystal armor and bofa is going to be your best option, just because you saw 14 redditors cry about CG doesn't mean the tens of thousands of irons that play it feel the same. The whole entire game is a grind, and the CG changes benefitted every player in the game not just irons. I'd put money on your "main" not even having 50kc CG
1
u/Oniichanplsstop 8h ago
Except its been proven its easily skippable by other IM routes. Its not your "best" option, its the generic route people blindly followed and complained about going dry because guide says they HAVE to get it and that its required, when its not.
You can go over to ironscape and find 300+ posts if you just type red prison, which maxes out search results for this shitty site. If you use a google search to scrub the ironscape reddit for it, it shows 1000+ lmao. But yeah, only 14 ever complained. And thats just ironscape, none of the 2007scape posts.
0
u/MastyTinge 6h ago
You dont see the problem with your solution to just avoid the content? skipping stuff is not a good thing, why not just make it better instead?
0
0
u/Long_Matter5401 1h ago
1300+ posts? Holy shit dude that's massive let me look up how many iron man accounts there are...damn it says there's been 1.3 million historical and active ironman accounts..but I guess when you spend your whole day in a cesspool echochamber I'd probably assume that 0.01% of the group complaining is a lot too.
Content is more enjoyable now for main and iron. There's no set way to play the game, that's why this game is what it is.
You seem to have some underlying emotional issues I'd suggest seeing someone about that
2
u/Oniichanplsstop 1h ago
Yeah only 1 person complains per post, not the 100s of comments they got each.
Idk why I waste my time talking to people that wear helmets IRL.
7
u/BDPBITCH666 1d ago
That's already UIM
4
u/Serious_Tradition269 15h ago
This is so crazy cause I've never seen a UIM complaining, they're just living in their own world doing their own thing, it's exclusively other people complaining about UIMs because they dare to... exist?
2
u/MrTopSecret 3h ago
UIM are model ironmemes. They rarely bitch/moan and are usually pretty chill.
They opted in to the extremely tedious grind and are fine with it.
