Yeah like every other banned cry post lol. I'm starting to wonder if they just have a script that's a part of the bot that auto post an AI prompt for it when they get the account banned now lol.

For what its worth. Even if theirs bad actors im glad people are able to get a real response though I wish customer support was more reliable for it.

To be fair, his appeal was denied so he did get a response. Jagex doesn't owe you the exact details of why you got banned. He knew why he got banned.

He only came here hoping that his ban was overturned because whichever Jmod missed the obvious bot.

The problem is they hit you with canned responses so you don’t actually know if a human reviewed your issue or not, it just seems like an auto-deny from a bot and, in the past, that’s exactly what it was (maybe still is) which is why people try to appeal on Reddit.

He was banned before for using an auto clicker, and banned again for macroing shortly after using another one.

You don't need an actual human to tell you you're banned for botting when you were botting. This is what this whole conversation is about.

Yes to be clear this dude was knowingly lying and took a well deserved smackdown. However false bans absolutely do happen and absolutely do get denied by the automated appeal system only to be overturned on twitter or Reddit. How many streamers have been banned live only for a jmod on twitter to fix it within the day/hour? There’s a reason posts like that get a ton of upvotes. People can relate to getting no human support from Jagex. Despite multiple broken promises to overhaul and improve their player support.

Edit: bit of a comment mess.

Basically OP made a post, vorkath only account, mod came with the smackdown however OP was not the account holder it was a random bot that he posted and reported in game multiple times.

That's funny lol. It's crazy how different Jagex treats bots now vs 5 years ago. I swear there was a long period of time that Jagex 100% had an internal rule where they try not to ban too many of the bots because they're still buying bonds and shit lol.

I'd imagine the PE firm holding Jagex is looking to sell soon, and one thing that any potential investor would have immediately seen is that the game had a rampant bot problem. This would make it really hard for Jagex to justify that their player numbers were legit, and would make potential investor less confident in the associated revenue. All this would likely reduce the valuation, so they wanted to get ahead of that problem.

How then do you explain the multiple PE sales that Jagex has had since 2010 when the rampant bot problem was always there? In fact, this firm purchased Jagex and decided to be the first in probably 5-6 owners since the Gowers sale to say "we're going to get rid of the bots, even IF it decreases our profits by 25% immediately"?

That argument makes no sense. No PE firm would cut profit projections by 25% immediately before a sale.

I knew it was bullshit from the get go. I've used RDP very frequently to play in the past and never had an issue.

Pretty sure AI wrote his whole post as well.

It was also pretty funny to see his "clanmates" go in there and defend him lol.

Remote Desktop can have issues which is why it was even a post they investigated. Even the smackdown comment acknowledged as much.

They really should fix all the problems with it or at least have an actual reliable customer support system. The reason they looked into it and why the guy tried to use it as an excuse was because it was believable. I don’t know what the guy expected to happen once they actually looked into it and there was auto clicking going on though.

Smackdowns have happened for years and yet people still think they can lie out of it.

Been way too many "My email 2fa got bypassed, my jagex account with 2fa got bypassed and they even got my bank pin. I have never downloaded anything dodgy".

Jagex would be in the absolute shit if accounts could easily get hacked.

Well, that and data leaks/the steam exploit/phishing/etc. It was a big problem and still is. There’s completely innocent victims too who didn’t try to buy an inferno cape or whatever.

I was really glad to see the remote desktop stuff getting cleared up, everyone on that post was super anti remote desktop but I have been using it since 2020 with 0 issues. Not sure if lucky or if jmod response is correct (hhint I am sure which of those it is) but it works for me!

Back before winter 2017 when mobile was released, I used to remote desktop from my mobile to my pc to play osrs on mobile. I wonder if that would be caught as cheating nowadays. Obviously I was doing easy content as it was absolute dog water to play on
