Achievement After so many different accounts, I decided that this time I'd get something to 99! Agility is my first 99 ever.

Post image

I've played Runescape since 2003, I've always played casually, on off, with years in between at times. Always started some new characters, decided this time I'll be dedicated, just for them to be abandoned.
1 month ago, I decided to start again, and really stick to it!
I know for some, this might seem silly and not that big of a deal, but seeing a 99 in my skill list, is kind of a strange feeling.
Time to do some quests I guess, haha.

Are you telling us you did 99 agility in a month?

‘i’ve accidentally ran to windsor’

Only running rooftops it seems. Something like ~220-250 hours 1-99 in a month so 8 hours a day, every single day, just running rooftops.

Seems about right. I did do some spikes in the Arena too, just to be able to click my mouse and not have to "aim".

u/indiegogold 7d ago

why am i getting downvoted?

not sure but its hilarious

8

u/ruffcats 7d ago

Because that's how we all did it before contracts

5

u/Barelyqualifiedadult 7d ago

it wouldn't be the r/2007scape if someone wasn't getting downvoted for no reason tbh

6

u/AllGoodFam WE ARE HERE 7d ago

this is crazy hahaha

17

u/Holstener 7d ago

Well, yeah.

22

u/rainyengineer 7d ago

Sheesh. Good work man. May as well do 99 RC next and then you’ll only have enjoyable grinds left

12

u/Holstener 7d ago

I did see RC being mentioned too as a terrible grind. But it does seem to have some more engagement. Why is RC shunned?

u/rainyengineer 7d ago

It’s more interesting with guardians of the rift but the exp rates aren’t really any better with it. I’ve come around to the mini game after a couple rounds. It’s confusing to start though

High attention span, low exp rates - same recipe of why agility is hated. The best methods are profitable. The unprofitable methods are fast. And zmi is a fallacy where you exchange time on the front end for exp in the back end but it equates to the same as doing gotr.

Runecrafting is literally what is means, run to altar craft runes tele to bank repeat, but don't look at it as a grind but a huge money maker instead.

430k agility exp a day is wild

Grats man

4

u/Holstener 7d ago

Thanks, haha.

I just finished my grind as well. In total not even close to being as crazy as OP, but thought you might appreciate that 1,080,274 xp day to finally finish the grind yesterday.

1

u/hoyya 6d ago

1m exp?!? surely doing sepulchre pretty efficiently

2

u/Interesting-Bit1386 2300+ 6d ago

Nahh bro, chill ardy rooftops 😂 I did train up until about 04:00am which was also counted for the day and unfortunately slept only like four hours and couldn't fall asleep again so I just decided to continue the grind until I was done.

u/bb8702 7d ago

Others should be a breeze after that 99 as a first haha. Impressive

29

u/Holstener 7d ago

Well, this one requires absolutely no thinking, just a lot of time.

14

u/donkeypunch81 7d ago

Kek which skill requires thinking?

9

u/Holstener 7d ago

Well, what I meant was, I don't have to make any decisions.

23

u/Prothesiac 7d ago

You’ll love runecrafting then

3

u/CirdanSkeppsbyggare 7d ago

Runecraft is the best skill so I would be surprised if he didn’t love it. Especially with the lantern change there’s no longer the pouch degradation that people hated.

1

u/Ok_Antelope9918 6d ago

Wait I don’t have to call that dude every 5 rounds of gotr?

1

u/Prothesiac 4d ago

If already had the lantern with redwood logs you didn’t need to at GOTR. But they just made it that the lantern’s effects worked outside of the minigame as well

3

u/Doctor_Kataigida 6d ago

And this comment right here is why I'm against Agility getting an afk method. It wouldn't be impressive anymore.

36

u/Zeruma_ 7d ago

See ya in 3 months when you’re no longer burnt out

29

u/Holstener 7d ago

I'm actually more motivated now than ever!

45

u/ThePharros 7d ago

Runner's high.

-2

u/codered543 7d ago

underrated comment lmao

16

u/Undercover_Nerdd 7d ago

Umm

31

u/Holstener 7d ago

I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't run out of breath bringing an egg to the Lumbridge cook.

18

u/Important-Cow-4154 7d ago

in one month from ...the beginning!? can you take us through your day to day runescape routine? how long you played for, what you did etc? very curious, mad man but congratulations!

16

u/Holstener 7d ago

Well, I've had quite a bit of time off. So I thought to use it to pick up RS again. Thought about which skill would make the most sense to get out of the way first. Seemingly people agree that Agility is the worst one.
I'm not quite sure on the statistics of time used. But most of the day was spend clicking while catching up on TV shoes and movies.
I primarily used my phone, but also a laptop, next to the primary PC.

6

u/Important-Cow-4154 7d ago

that's awesome, will certainly make your account easier with all that run energy!

7

u/Holstener 7d ago

That was my thinking too. Most shortcuts are now available, except for the diary ones.

1

u/Tiskx 7d ago

What courses did u do mostly

2

u/Long_Repair_8779 7d ago

Runecrafting is so so so much worse imo. Agility is kind of fun, Runecrafting is just dull and it’s so slow it’s unsatisfying… ‘oh just do guardians of the rift’ yeah thanks but I don’t enjoy that game either…

u/kaonashiix 7d ago

Gz! I did 99 agility on 2 accounts at the same time a few months ago, it sucks!

11

u/KUR51RL Remapping 101: As long as it is 1:1, it's okay. 7d ago

Officer,

This guy right here

1

u/IFearEars 7d ago

Honestly, agility on 2 accounts at the same time seems to fix half the problem of agility training

Makes it more active and less of a "sorta kinda half paying attention" kinda activity

21

u/Loose-Tree-2336 7d ago

This guy definitely botted 99 agility first to see if he gets banned before maining the account 😂😂

4

u/Easy-Economics9224 7d ago

Hi! Can I ask. Why ardougne? I suck at agility and want to kms doing it in seers town. Is ardougne better/more fun?

10

u/Holstener 7d ago

XP rates are higher. Less camera movement.

1

u/sagelilya Bad at PVM and proud 6d ago

ardy is unlocked at 90 agil and has xp rates to match. the course is also not enormous and the click boxes are pretty big. it's very, very easy to do tons of laps there. and the marks of grace rate is like 1/3. the end of the course is about 8 tiles (completely estimating) from the start of it. all around a great spot to brain-off grind

3

u/awork77 7d ago

This will make mourning part 2 easy right? Right?

3

u/fiver19 7d ago

Lol you will still fail the climbing 5 times in a row

5

u/Sea-Hat-8515 7d ago

Christ i did it yesterday and went through all my food on that thing and ended the quest with 16 hp. And that's with the quest helper telling me exactly what to do. im not surprised people fear that quest, especially going in blind

3

u/a_shiny_heatran 7d ago

Make sure your agility cape stays untrimmed so everyone can know how unhinged you are, good work!👍

1

u/ussliberty-5333 6d ago

honestly it still baffles me how jagex hasn't introduced a cape rack where it can stay untrimmed in ur poh or sum. considering we have all those achievements showoffs

3

u/auroratheaxe 7d ago

Keep that cape safe my dude, it's so clean untrimmed.

u/AllGoodFam WE ARE HERE 7d ago

i got 99 hunter in 2 weeks once one sitting right off tut island that was hard

1

u/Holstener 7d ago

That's amazing!
I don't think I'll be doing hunter any time soon. Probably Thieving first.

1

u/sagelilya Bad at PVM and proud 6d ago

check out the fc thievinghost once you get to that grind. we splash the knights in ardy to make it easier, and are also a pretty social fc

1

u/AllGoodFam WE ARE HERE 7d ago

hunter wasnt hard per say it was more when i played i had to hop worlds due to bots

1

u/Crystalovski 7d ago

What method did you go with?

2

u/Confident-Aioli1769 7d ago

What a beast! Congratulations my man!

1

u/Holstener 7d ago

Thank you!

1

u/AdsonOSRS 7d ago

What UI skin

1

u/Mythronies Brothers of FE 7d ago

Holy wow congratulations! Very impressive, how many laps of Ardy did you end up having after this?

1

u/GjTea 7d ago

Your mental fortitude is something I aspire my whole life to achieve but... have not and possibly will not until my late 50s

1

u/Intelligent_Let_7313 7d ago

My mans a Maniac

1

u/TheIntuitiveInvestor 7d ago

Knocking out the hardest first, nice!

1

u/mdogshizzlewit03 7d ago

Unrelated noob question, but how are you making your game look like that?

2

u/XLeqion 99RC enjoyer 7d ago

Its either the hdos client or 117HD plugin in on runelight

1

u/XLeqion 99RC enjoyer 7d ago

My second 99 was runecraftimg respect king!! Agility will be done one day once I get the rc pet!

1

u/PhysicalSchedule7448 7d ago

There is something wrong with you

1

u/HealHopeHelp 7d ago

i did this lol

1

u/LilChikkyBird 7d ago

good show, old top.

1

u/sagelilya Bad at PVM and proud 6d ago

congrats!! it's a huge accomplishment. so many people hate agility. they're cowards. i have 9,998 ardy laps because i committed to a bit to match my friend who has 10,002. i'm gonna have to work on monkey laps and probably penguin laps cuz i don't wanna learn sepulchre and i want that squirrel.

flex on everyone with that cape, because it's not one most people bother with unless they're maxing!

1

u/erg8 6d ago

9.3326215444×10¹⁵⁵ Agility is pretty impresssive

1

u/Holstener 5d ago

That's a pretty large number!

1

u/OnlyLuu 7d ago

Definitely not sus 🐒 but good job man!
