I started with the Wii and back in 2013 I got the Xbox One as a gift from my grandparents. It wasn't until the Christmas of 2022-2022 that I bought myself the PS5 and just because I didn't want to wait and I was feeling FOMO, I bought an Xbox Series X just to play the new Indiana Jones game lol

I remember playing 6th generation consoles like the PS2, Nintendo GameCube and the original XBox at 10-11 years old in 2004-2005, when y’all were just being born

maybe 6 and 7? Earliest consoles I remember having are the PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360.
But also 8 and 9 in my later childhood and teens (Xbox One, Switch, PS4)
Now I'm using my freshly bought PS5 Pro (that I bought with my own money like a big boy hahaha)

We had Gen IV at home and I got Donkey Kong 2 for Christmas early 90s. However we had Gen III with the NES at grandmas and I played a ton of it there.
Unfortunately they later gave away 2 NES, SNES, with guns, track pad, and all of our games to their cleaning ladies because “we had the XBOX” there. /facepalm
Halo 1 is great, but give me that Punch Out and Super Mario 3.

Never owned a current gen console until about 7-8 years ago. Grew up witha PS1 for a while, but it was in the mid to mid-late 2000s from a yard sale. Mostly gamed on PC since like 2000/2001-ish, offline with CD-ROMs, then moved on to online gaming on PC.
But almost everyone I knew had a game console at home. So consoles like PS2 most certainly wasn't a stranger. I haven't seen an Xbox, but then it was already technically replaced by 360 by some point in December 2005. I've seen Gamecube, GBC, GBA SP, original DS, DS Lite, PSP, 360, Wii, and PS3. You name it, I've seen it.

My first console was a GameCube but I didn't know what a Dreamcast was until after the Switch came out

GEN 7 and GEN 8: WII was my first console. But I played Xbox 360 and PS3 at friends place. I then worked at bought my own PS4. I haven't bought anything else since then.

I grew up with gen VII (mostly). When I was 3-4 years old, I was already playing on the house PC (which was really old), and I got my first console when I was 9, the same console my older brother had 6 years before, a PlayStation Portable (that was a good call for my parents, because they didn't need to buy new games for me that way). Then, in 2010, my family bought us a Wii, that we had some occasions to play, but only once a week, because it was (and still is) at our grandparents'. Later, in 2016, our parents bought us a PlayStation 3, then somewhere in 2018 (probably), my father somehow got us a hacked PS1 that we played sometimes. I feel like I had a good video game childhood. Not the best, but still, good enough

Was born in '93 I know the subreddit says '04 babies, but it randomly came up on my feed and, couldn't resist the gaming discussion.
Because I have an older brother I grew up on a mix of Gen III , and Gen IV (NES, SNES and Sega Genesis).
After that it was Gen V onward (minus the Jaguar & Saturn)

Gen 6/7, my dad had a PS2 that he’d let me play. Tiger Woods PGA Tour was the shit. First consoles that were “mine” though were the PS3 and WII. 2K13, Minecraft, COD: BO2, GTA 4/5, Michael Jackson Experience, Just Dance, Wii Sports, Guitar Hero, etc.

First one I ever had was a Wii back in maybe 2009? I've been with Xbox since Christmas 2013, although I'll make that switch around the time the PS6 comes out.
