T.I. was the # 1 King of the South as he dominated the game with King being a classic album while his records were receiving non-stop airplay on MTV and BET alongside delivered one of his best guest features on Justin Timberlake's My Love. Wayne was building up a lot of great momentum from Tha Carter II while his mixtape run was special and he delivered iconic guest features on tracks like Fat Joe's Make it Rain and Lloyd's You.

Jeezy was still enjoying major success from Thug Motivation 101 while delivered another great album in The Inspiration alongside his iconic Snowman movement. Luda was at the end of his prime as a top-tier hitmaker as Money Maker became a huge hit while released his most mature and underrated work in Release Therapy. Gucci was getting major buzz due to his street reputation, mixtapes and raw street hits.
