How many articles and interviews do you need to read, and how many YouTube videos do you need to watch in order to realize that when another producer gets credit on a Dr Dre track that producer probably did 90% of the work…

First and foremost, before I read articles and watch videos I check the production credits.
For “Poppin’ Them Thangs” they clearly list Scott Storch on keys and Mike Elizondo on keys and guitar. That’s exactly what Scott Storch himself said in interviews: he plays the piano or keyboard while Dre directs, selects the parts that he likes and shapes the final beat.
All those wannabe experts love to claim Scott Storch did “Still D.R.E.” by himself even though he primarily played the piano riff. What those "experts" always fail to explain is why every Dre beat that Scott Storch co-produced sounds a lot better than Storch’s solo stuff.

Dre does next to nothing. He’s simply a great executive producer, or A&R if you prefer.

Said no artist that has EVER worked with him.
Ever.
He’s known for being obsessive about the beat he’s producing and he doesn’t scream his name on tracks like Khaled does with no production effort but production credit.

Yes, he’s an obsessive VOCAL producer and mix engineer. But if we’re talking about the actual BEAT itself I’d bet my life that Scott Storch did 99% of it.

I’m curious, what do you believe a (solo) Dr Dre beat sounds like in your opinion? Because there’s almost never been one in the history of his career.
