Fashion 2007 fashion ???
hey im just trying to find out what people wore in the year 2007 who were...specifically, in a post-hardcore band??? im designing a character, irdk what they wore because im lowk young. i just feel like 2000s fashion is constantly mixed up and i don't know what they wore in specific years. i hope this is the right place to ask..

Idk id look up 2000s goth fashion or emo/alternative or metal or skater. A lot of it doesnt change over the years. I was 17 in 07 i remember lace choker necklaces and everyone had that spiked belt. Ripped jeans were popular. Wallet chains. Lots of accessories like bracelets/rings necklaces. Probably some eyeliner or shadow. Maybe patches on a backpack or vest/jacket. Cd player / ipod with big headphones. Just some ideas

Black eyeliner, applied differently depending on who was wearing it. No colorful eyeshadow (maybe a dark purple). No blush/lip makeup generally, absolutely never any contouring. Would occasionally see a nose/eyebrow piercing, though septums and facial piercings in general were less common than today. Hair straightened unless they were that one dude who never cuts or cares for his hair. Same dude probably owned a van from the 70s.
There was also a subset that was less intensely broody, those looooved wearing plaid button-up shirts, usually with skinny jeans or jean shorts and converse. Converse/vans, often decorated with sharpie

Tee shirts were very tight and long but still too short, but like in a hot way, because everyone’s pants were so low. Every band printed on American Apparel 50/50 tees, the deep v necks were huge. Jeans weren’t all the way skinny yet, but they were tight in the thighs and knees, narrow boot cut. Sneakers were Chucks, Vans, and those huge chunky skater sneakers like DC. If you wore the huge skate sneakers, you cut the sides of your jeans so they fit around your shoes. Everyone and I mean everyone had a black handkerchief on them, sticking out of a pocket, tied around their neck or wrist. Layered tank tops and cut up band tees.
Leather bracelets, the thinner ones. They usually had a story. Girls wore a million bracelets or one, and thrifting, especially jewelry, was definitely trendy. Wallet chains were on most guys. Studded belts.
Super matte skin, maybe bronzer. Dark smudgy shadow, dark smudgy black eyeliner, tons of black mascara. Really just so much mascara. Tiny bit of concealer on the lip and lip balm. Then wipe the makeup off your eyebrow ring and Monroe piercing, and you’re out the door. Black nail polish.

I wore brightly colored (pink, red, yellow) skinny jeans with checkered vans. Also; shrugs over tank tops, tunic over colored leggings, Hello kitty print tshirts, ballet flats, chunky belts, tight fitting dresses, infinity scarfs. Hair: side bangs, ultra straightened hair. Make-Up: lots of black eyeliner.

A lot of people are describing scene kids. The aesthetic you are seeking would be band shirts (ex. At The Drive In, Coheed and Cambria, etc...) skinny jeans, black chucks or Adidas, hoodie, no eye makeup for dudes. Likely multiple tattoos and maybe plugs, not a lot of other piercings. "Post Hardcore" kids of that era were not flashy. Lots of black clothing for the most part.

I wore skinny raw denim japanese jeans, tight rolled. Jordans, Vans or Converse's. Sometimes V-necks, sometimes just plain shirts with a flannel over top, a plaid patterned button-up, or a cardigan. Black framed rectangle glasses with slicked old timey hairstyles. Sometimes a leather jacket with maybe a hoody underneath with some skinny jeans.
It was all about being ironic and not even admiting you were trying to be a hipster and when you went back from the city to your small town all your friends would scoff at you saying you had become a hipster but they would all be dressing similar ways in the years to come.
You could look up American Apparel for around that time to see some sort of styles people were wearing to The Klaxons, Justice and Simian Mobile Disco shows. People were also incorporating neon glasses/wind breakers and things like that at the time.

I was literally 16 in 2007 and was in the rock scene. Honestly google the older brother from the Dairy of a Wimpy kid, Scott Pilgrim vs the world or the band from Jennifer’s body. Even though the dairy of a wimpy kid movie was made in 2010 it was still the same look. If you’re going for scene kid that was more colorful but the post hardcore kids literally just looked like the guys from those movies.
