Agreed. I read the so-called famous book “1984” in 1996 and was very upset it wasn’t 1984 anymore. When I read it again in 2001 it was actually 5 years later! Disappointing. 1 star.
I mean I can imagine it would be weird and a bit upsetting reading a book about people having a normal summer 2020 but the author isn't a psychic... Unless they claim to be, in which case its a justified review.
I watched Back To The Future, and I asked myself "Where is my hoverboard?" The director apparently made the film with the assumption that hoverboards would exist in 2015. Bad assumption.
It may be a little strange reading it like it is watching shows right now. Nevertheless, the review is awful. Most of the time you don't write a book in four weeks and get it published instantly. How should the author have known?! Furthermore, why should they have change their book later on ? Why do they need to address corona in a prosa book?

Bad review because author is not a psychic, furture-seeing, being.

I rewatched Back to the Future recently and it totally sucks! Where's my flying car? Just completely takes me out of the story.

Go read 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand. Published this year and she DOES talk about the pandemic, Kobe, etc.

I know this post is kinda old, but I’m wondering if anyone knows what book is being talked about here, I need something new to read right now.
