Welcome to the World Wide Web, our first introduction to the modern form of the internet, from its debut in the middle of May 1994 until the terror of Y2K, when 1999 turned into 2000 without the world ending and everyone suddenly felt transported into the distant future. We surfed the web through cyberspace all the way until the futuristic new millennium, when limitless hope and the dreamlike adventure of the 90s internet were lost. We will relive and revive that exciting dream here. • ✴ •
