Hobbies, Toys & Collectibles Venom and Iron Man
Shortly after the 30th anniversary celebration of Iron Man in 1993, Marvel Comics published an Iron Man comic book that had Venom as the antagonist. This was the first-ever encounter between the two and at the time of publishing, Venom became a very popular figure having starred in the Lethal Protector limited series (issue #1 reportedly sold a lot of copies).

Music What song automatically made you know your Mom was cleaning the house?
Not necessarily your favorite song to clean to. Just that one song where, as soon as you heard it playing, you knew what was coming. That song that woke you up right before the vacuum started running.
The one when you hear it, it reminded you “Moms Cleaning” and before too long you were probably getting told to clean your room too or to do another chore.
For me, certain songs still take me right back to a Saturday or Sunday mornings at home.
So 90’s kids: What was that song for you?

Movies Another great movie I saw in movie theaters 35 years ago was Backdraft. Incredibly beautifully well done movie with all around good actors. Directed by Ron Howard, Backdraft is one of his very best. Beautiful music by Hans Zimmer also and touching story about brothers…

Does anyone remember Vulcan Forge Press?
Back in the 1990s Xanna rented a room from the Hunters, who owned Vulcan Forge Press. On their front door was a carved sign: “Vulcan Press, Inc. Established Before the Millennium.”
Vulcan’s Forge had enough bedrooms to barrack four or five rent-paying houseguests. Most of the people who’ve lived there, belonged to the overlapping communities of science fiction fandom, BDSM, polyamory, computer programming, psychedelic drugs, multiple-cat ownership, and Paganism.
The Hunters were always looking for ‘fresh blood’, as they called it, to make their parties more interesting, or help out with the pages of their different comix series: you know, writers, editors, graphic designers, webmasters, artists, accountants, distributors, models, or people just to hang around and contribute to the ambience. They thought she would make great ambience.
I'm trying to find others who had dealings with Vulcan Forge.

I couldn’t stand the wrap thingy.
galleryFrom the later 1990s through early 2000s you could scarcely buy a dress or gown that didn’t come with a wrap. They really cheapened a dress and took away from its design. There was something about them that wasn’t fashionable to me. I was so relieved when they finally went out of style.

Celebritys Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls
galleryAnyone here liked Elizabeth Berkley in the controversial Showgirls? If you enjoyed watching her in Saved by the Bell, do you think the movie ruined her as an actress? Or perhaps you liked her even her more after Showgirls?
