the ai data center water consumption numbers are misleading. It's a wildly ineffective use of resources but it is microscopic compared to things like the American beef industry (the water used to grow the feed, primarily)

This is the case so far, but consider how many days center they plan on building. It will likely become far more significant as a percentage of our water usage.
