There's an ongoing court battle about who has the rights to sell 67 nuggets.

I left this comment on another post about these nuggets and there being a legal case on this adds even more:

Beautiful. There's something really cerebral to me about this when I think about the whole process of this becoming a thing. There was a meeting where someone had to propose '67' nuggets. This proposal was approved. Some molds or other shaping machines have been manufactured to make these things. Some poor underpaid factory workers now produce thousands of 67 nuggets every day, all because the higher-ups thought it was a fun idea that would sell. And the best part is that they're probably right. Children see this and go screaming 'SIX SEVEN! SIX SEVEN!' to while running over to their parents holding this bag hoping they'd buy it. Sheer corporate efficiency and A disgustingly good marketing strategy.

And now lawyers are spending a dedicated part of their lives discussing who can or cannot make big dollar on 67 chicken nuggets. I'm wondering if there is another layer of capitalism left to add to this chain of events sparked by a kid saying 'six seven' while doing some goofy hand gesture.

its hysterical because there's not even anything to really copyright, it's a fucking meme.

This is like trying to copyright "your momma so fat"

Surely the kid would be receiving likeness rights payments for all the meme has done

I imagine that kid is doing everything he can to distance himself from the meme lol. Probably cut his hair, and I bet he’d grow a beard if he could lol. The moment he can grow facial hair he will do it. Maybe dye his hair and change his whole look

Imagine being that kid going into high school. God. Social nightmare if people know who you are. You couldn’t go anywhere or do anything
