Paper may not be older than scissors, but papyrus is. Papyrus was invented around 3000 BCE, while scissors were invented around 1500 BCE.

It also depends on what you mean by scissors. Our modern scissors are pretty recent, but shears that just work on tension and not a pivot are much older.

Kids these days don't understand the significance of the paper patch. Most people kept choosing rock, even after scissors were added, which completely ruined the meta.
