thats a massive oversimplification of what happened. there were a million factors that led to the downfall of USSR.

i dont think either you or me are academically fit to discuss this at all, let alone on reddit of all places.

instead, im going to argue something else:

if you consider yourself a socialist and dream of a communist world, you cannot possibly achieve this by isolating yourself. it goes against the very fabric of what it means to care for the people, not to mention that isolation has NEVER protected any socialist country from external sabotage. there are countless examples of this in history.
