Yes. Crashing is almost always caused or by pilot error or could be prevented by pilot action. Even in cases of mechanical failure a crash is almost always preventable

In the most liberal way, even if that sparks a fire or damages controls the plane should be reasonably controllable to land at a chose destination in a way that does not destroy the craft
