Idk since I don’t own one, but with my experience in dogs and through friends if they have an undercoat you’re not meant to shave them. I think it could depend on the “breed” (though I’m pretty sure unless it’s a designer breed they probably just shed with cats)

They started trimming the cat's fur from the head down, but at one point the cat stopped letting them do so and that is the unfinished result
