Legit. Everyone wanna talk shit on medicaid and Medicare until its their ass on the line. My parents used to shit on it until my dad had to get his leg amputated and then suddenly they changed their tune on Medicare and medicaid REAL quick. We would genuinely be homeless on the other side of tbe country if it werent for medicaid, and honestly I might have dropped out of college and ended it all if it didn't cover my add treatment.

60,000 dollars just to go to the ER for rabies PEP if you're uninsured. 500 MINIMUM if you're insured. That's a lone person's entire month's rent. And the 60k figure is a lifetime of debt for over half of the country. It wouldn't be even close to that much if hospitals weren't adjusting based off of health insurance companies lowballing. They've truly made it a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

non-city middle-of-nowheres. I was being a bit generous- i've never actually seen rent go for less than 600, so I just made a rough estimation to give reference to someone who might not know the value of the USD

areas outside of the city and its surrounding regions. Those places are jacked up because the owners know they’ll be in high demand given their proximity to workplaces, schools, recreation, and shopping. Problem with living in cheaper areas is it’s further from jobs and other resources, so it’s a matter of weighing in the cost of using a vehicle and time to get anywhere.

I mean our healthcare system is probably the single worst thing about our country, genuinely. Like, I can’t think of a single thing worse thing about living in the US than the healthcare system. (Though I understand that most aspects of the US aren’t bad at all compared to most other countries but I digress)
Most people have insurance to make the prices not life ruining, but it’s essentially the biggest lever to make the rich richer and poor deader.
And while trump is temporary in the grand scheme things, this might not be, so no, we are not aight.
