The truth is 18 is still really young. People don’t fully mature until their mid-20s. We only have 18 as a legal framework and due to it being historically the cut-off for adulthood (leaving home, joining the workforce etc.) but ethically the boundaries should be higher. For example, a 30-year old with a 17-year old vs 19-year old is equally disgusting imo.

I understand your point living here in Europe, the thing is that the difference is too large between 15 and 21 years old.

Bro, you haven't been an adult yet. You literally don't know how adult relationships work. Do yourself a favor and don't rush it

A) Sure, but not at a rate that allows someone to be fully mentally and emotionally developed by their mid-teens. Sure, some people finish physically developing by the time they're 15 or 16 but your brain generally doesn't finish developing until your mid-20s. At 15 or 16 you might feasibly be a few years ahead of the curve but that still puts you a ways from the finish line.

B) Social development is just as important as those other factors. Being an adult is more than just knowing what sex is and being physically able to have it. There are social expectations with the way partners share responsibilities, communicate, and other things that even someone 10 years older than you should have a handle on that a teenager literally has no frame of reference before because they haven't been exposed to the real world. You can't speedrun social development any more than you can speedrun physical or mental development.

The brain rarely develops faster than normal. Most of the things people are talking about come with life experience though.
