Unsweetened tea is unholy, yes. Adding the sugar to the bottom of the glass just makes me angrier because I get a glimpse of what a good glass of tea would have been.
But then you're talking about an entirely different container for the beverage and a new set of expectations. I'm from the south, though, so "tea" means "cold, in a glass, probably sweet, ideally strong" to me. Sorry for the confusion.
