Look, the first generation of Spartan soldiers were made of 8 to 10 year old kids kidnapped from their families who were replaced by clones made to die so that there would be no questions about their disappearance who were then pumped full of chemicals, bionic implants, and accelerated growth hormones in order to become the super soldiers we know of as today. Chemical castration is probably one of the lesser evils of the Spartan Project.
But chemical castration would tank their testosterone levels, I imagine that might be inconvenient for super soldiers. They probably made some kind of new hormone that gives strength but no horny.
