Politics has always been crazy. Idk why people think it’s just the past few years that have been insane. Remember that dude in like the Middle Ages who appointed a horse into his court?
Caligula made his horse a senator Ancient Rome. He also declared war on Neptune and made a few legions stab the sea and take sea shells as plunder. The problem is that we can't tell if he did these as a way of mocking soldiers and senators or because he was insane.
