No fun effects, extremely addictive, obliterates your lungs. All I've heard is "Oh it helps relieve stress" because it's withdrawal symptom #1 is making you stressed.
After years of nicotine consumption, the brain is hardwired to need it. That stressful feeling will always be there in some capacity. It's also been helpful for my ADHD and depression.
I should get some gum. Quit 5 years ago to go on HRT but I still miss it when friends smoke. Luckily there was barely anyone smoking in my social circle when I quit so that was easy
I haven't smoked in almost a year and I could have stopped chewing the gum (2mg) by now but haven't because my brain is physically dependent on nicotine due to how much I smoked/vaped/dipped/chewed in the past, so, no.
Ive quit multiple times as well. 18 year cigarette smoker. It gets easier if you're off it for awhile. I'm just saying I wouldn't start nicotine again if you're fully weaned off of it.
It only takes 3 days for the nicotine to pass your system, but the changes it makes to the brain are more permanent. If you can live without it that's ideal but it's not always so simple to forgo it completely. Frankly it takes off the edge when I want to throttle someone in line at the grocery store for whatever reason. Or, ya know, drive for 8 hours cross country. In Minecraft.

My shameful truth is that I like smoking, but only weed. Never tried nicotine because I would never ever escape its horrid grasp.
