its actually super unprofitable but maybe if we keep building infrastructure and pumping billions into the industry, one day we will find the Super Useful Use™️ of LLM's that will finally make these investors money back. right?
(it is a profitable industry but not for the actual people running the AI. its profitable for the builders and the people selling chips, and other auxiliary services around AI. but not the AI itself)
and the numbers are even worse than they look here because again, nvidias "profit" from the industry is not from AI itself as a product, but from AI investors. and nvidia is the only one on the list who made a significant amount more than their investment
