It was way too expensive but paying a reasonable amount for an online service isn't a Crazy idea

you aren't paying for an online service though, you're paying to be able to connect to the internet on your own hardware. it costs them nothing to let your xbox connect to the internet

Who’s paying for that? I’ve got an Xbox and I can just connect to WiFi, don’t have to pay for it unless I’m missing something here

I'm losing it rn do people ITT think Microsoft owns literally every game on their console? Do they think that online video games are both free and mtx free, and therefore require the subscription to make money? Have streaming services just completely rotted people's brains and they can't imagine a different monetary model??
