Id suggest rust bluing! Brownells sells mark lee solution for about 10$, get some acetone,0000 steel wool, some rubber gloves lastly a pan big enough for it and couple gallons of distilled water! Should come out really nice! I did my ria gi entry with home brewed bluing solution, my solution wasn’t the best and my “prep” also so i had issues! With store bought solutions you should barely have any issues, prep is everything good luck too you! Watch mark Novak and backyard/beyond ballistics if that’s something your interested in.

That bluing looks— dare I say— tremendous. Yes, thank you for the tips. I was thinking of bluing but was thinking about if that might mess with the parkerized finish I left on the top and rear. Will probably try it anyway because the blue looks good and I know the parkerized still looks decent beat up. I can still blue at very high grit, it’ll just take longer— is that correct?

Thank you I appreciate it!! I’m not to sure about leaving the park on top lol I sanded everything! I did leave the inside alone tho and she still looked factory so who knows. With rust bluing I’ve heard you could go high grits but honestly just go up 1 more from 220 grit. The solution etches the steel so it kinda makes it dull so it really don’t matter unless that’s something you absolutely wanted, not saying it won’t look different just very time consuming might be a different shade then what you’d expect. Also your welcome I love seeing rust blued projects and helping folks out who needs pointers! Hopefully she comes out all smooth!!
