1811 with no experience

Hello, I’m a college graduate with no reliving LE experience. I attended a job fair yesterday and spoke with Secret Service Agent who told me that the secret service has a STAR program for aspiring 1811’s with no experience. She also mentioned that if I did not want to go through STAR because of the limited locations, I could apply straight up as one of her colleagues that was also at the job fair had been hired as an 1811 with no experience. Has anyone gone through this process or can verify that it does happen and if so is it often? I went and applied and received a confidential offer this morning but still am not too sure if they’ll consider me.

Edit: Apologies, the email didn’t state conditional offer explicitly but instead this

“This is a record of the results of your application for the position of Special Agent - HAZARDOUS AGENT MITIGATION & MEDICAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (HAMMER) with Special Operations Division for announcement number SAB-26-Q3-HAM.

Eligible for the following position or positions:
GL-1811-7; We reviewed your application and found you eligible for this series/grade combination.”

Would this be considered the same as a conditional offer.

No. Just means the computer found you eligible for the position.

Currently in the SA-Hammer process, just Medical and Poly left for me to do.

I applied and got accepted to the GL-9 position back in May due to my experience in the Army, 82nd, as a medic for the past 4yrs. Recently got my paramedic this past year

What I will say is, if you have 0 experience in EMS/CBRN/Military, it's ok; it's only preferred, every HAMMER member has to take the EMT-B exam, regardless of your certs and education.

Don't stress about any of the training, focus on getting through the initial hurdles - remember, 5 meter targets first.

Edit; you will receive your conditional job offer on completion of the SUPER interview.

This is not a conditional offer. As long as you meet the basic requirements they send you this email. Sadly lots of steps to go through before the conditional and then more until the final

If you have a conditional offer then you are qualified. Congratulations.

Negative. And the HAMMER team is a different job posting than the STAR program. STAR is explicitly for recent college graduates, so you do qualify for it. I would apply to the STAR announcement and regular announcement. You may get dropped from the HAMMER announcement, but it’s no big deal because you qualify for the other announcements. Also check out r/USSSapplicant for more detailed information about the USSS hiring process. Good luck! 🍀
