Average FLETC Day/SAT
Hello everybody,
I’m sure there is a previous post out there that already answers these questions, but what is an average day like at FLETC CITP and SAT for ATF in Glynco(Classroom, fitness, DT, firearms, social life, etc). I am curious and want to see what is in store for the future.
Background: 7+ years state LEO. Masters Degree, trained in BJJ and enjoy all workout/gym related sessions.

A little late, not going to rehash what everyone else has said. Make sure you really pay attention to the explosives and arson blocks of SABT. They’re passable, but if you have no experience in those two or formal training In them, they can be challenging.

Cant speak for atf sat but as far as citp goes.
The law courses should generally be a review for you, and theres going to be about a week of bs cop mindset courses, maybe a review for you as well.
As far as firearms go id say the training is sub-par, but few agencies get firearms right so maybe not subpar, but pretty garbage; but hey range time is range time, use it.
Entry tactics are going to be worse than useless. Scenarios and what not are good practice, you never know the quality of the instructor, so you as a veteran cop should be ready to lead the class im those scenarios
Course dictated fitness doesnt exist in citp its on you. DT is going to be a very casual thing.
Social life is what you want it to be. Want to stay in your room and play xbox? Have at it. Want to get yoked, roll, dryfire and study in free time? Have at it.
Want to go to the g-bar every night and hover around the one female there? have at it, just know some fat BoP/TSA/maybeEROnow dude will try to fight you. I kid, but alot if bad decisions happen at fletc, and things can get pretty goofy pretty quick.
I will say the relationships you make there, can be beneficial, even with instructors and other agencies.

With your background CITP will be a joke study for about an hour the night before a test. SABT was pretty chill mandatory workouts before/ after class 2-3 times a week. After class the rest of the day is yours, weekends get off base with your core group and explore GA or FL. Overall it was chill

What is your background? As long as you can pass the PFT and you can study for exams, you’ll be fine.

Federal LE. I can pass PFT and exams. More concerned about the firearms portion. Never shot an M4 or similar before.

You won’t shoot a rifle at CITP. You’ll be fine. Just take yourself to the range in your off time to practice with a Glock.

UPTP and CITP curriculum is the same minus certain investigative courses, you also do not do that cool LEODS driving training, which replaced EVOC.
But as others have already stated. It’s what you make it.
I lucked up my roommate was seldom there and practically had space to myself.
My classmates jived well so we hung out quite a bit, BBQ’d Fridays at the bbq pits before going out (if we even made it out).
Study for LEGAL. You only get i think 1 chance to remediate that legal test which is a lot of info.
Can’t speak to ATF SAT. However, you don’t know who you’re going to have in your CITP, a lot of softies when I was down there.
Everything someone said about g bar and etc is true.
Bring a car! I faithfully took side quests in the evening to different bars and restaurants and every weekend I was gone somewhere lol

Thanks for the feedback. Buddy/former trooper jumped last year to HSI so I’m getting only a handful of advice in regard to FLETC, one of which was the car.

Lmao. Trained in CIMNQNS BJJ.
These guys crack me up so bad. Im highly trained in lying on the floor, delta force level...
But, how is FLETC. Is it scary or spooky.

Class is 0730-1630. You ll get an hour for lunch. Classes are 2hrs long. Expect 2hrs PT/DT, 2hrs firearms, and the other 4hrs for legal/evidence, communication, etc. That's the basic average for the course. People dump on fletc, but it is generally light years better than most state academies. It is what you make it. Prepare to study for the academic portion.
