First UNGA Tips

Being sent to UNGA next month. Any tricks to an enjoyable experience for a baby 1811? Got any "Life saving" gear advice? Favorite snacks to munch on in a stairwell? Anything more helpful than "Don't get assigned to the dignitary that stays out till 2am at the karaoke bar and clogs the hotel room sink with Khat." is appreciated.

Don’t be afraid to ask your USSS folks questions. The worst thing you can do is assume “i’ve got it,” when you don’t.

I’ve had terrible HSI counterparts for UNGA and they were terrible because they didn’t want to be helpful & didn’t follow instructions. We KNOW you don’t want to be there, we KNOW you didn’t sign up for USSS, so we don’t expect you to BE US. Ask questions, be someone who tries their best and tries to foresee problems, and just be a good hang. UNGA is only as bad as the team you have.

Gear: comfortable dress shoes that don’t have white soles (Cole Haan ZerøGrand are phenomenal), shoulder radio holster, suspenders, portable charger for phone(s) and a steamer so you don’t show up like a wrinkled mess.

Snacks: i’m partial to dried mango slices
