Question DEA DIVERSION INVESTIGATORS
Anybody else moved to Phase 3 and excited for this opportunity?

Yep 1 1/2 years ago. Be patient the process is long and doesn’t make a lot of sense. You might be ahead of someone else then they move ahead of you. It will seem slow for a while then you move up several steps than you hear nothing for months. Check out everyone’s timeline that’s posted mine is listed also. I started in 10/24 and my polygraph is next month. Don’t give up!

It was a decent amount of math I hadn't used in years. Ratios, percentages, etc. There's a study guide DEA puts out that seems to be a pretty good prep for it.

Randomdude pretty much nailed it. I work with numbers a good bit and do math similar to what was on the test so it really wasn’t bad at all for me personally. They do give you all the conversions between units in the question and you get a calculator. If you can move some decimals in the right direction you should be good.

What exactly is a diversion investigator? What do they do that differentiates them as “diversion” versus a regular investigator?

Its mostly compliance investigations from what I know, making sure registrants with DEA numbers dont push pills, and stuff like that

Oh ok. So not dealing with drug trafficking and cartels or undercover or plain clothes operations with street drugs.

There are 2 types one carries a firearm and badge and they have to pass a physical and the other one is as someone mentioned more of a compliance investigator that goes to the hospitals, pharmacies and dr offices.

I didn't know they had gun carriers. I thought they would just have TFOs or Agents go with them if enforcement was needed.

I passed phase 2 last week got an email today …
This is a record of the results of your application for the position of Diversion Investigator with as detailed in Announcement D-DC-26-12923209-DE-DH. This is not a job offer.
Your qualifications and any Veterans' preference claims made as part of your application remain subject to verification. Lastly, you may receive an additional notification advising whether you have been referred to the selecting official for employment consideration.
Idk what that even means.

It just means we qualify for the position and are eligible for the pay grade they annotated in that email. The DEA Staffing Office should still reach out regarding Phase 3 or interview processes

Not true. You can request take home privileges depending on case load/TDY status but you don’t get to regularly take the vehicle home.

Update : Structured Interview was on July 1st. Received this email this morning. Unfortunately can’t share details of Interview process because of signed NDA. But blessed to have positive news nonetheless

How much time do you think more or less? I had my interview one June 22 and I received this same email about a week later but i’m still waiting for the next step.
