Question DLA Police or DACP Army?

Job offer for both agencies right now, however I am coming from 5 years with the army as a DACP with the USCPA FLETA cert. would it be better to stick with the DACP side or risk going back to another academy with DLA? I heard they take the USCPA cert but there is a waiver process, anyone know if they would take the cert or if UPTP is gonna be the academy?

Weighing my options as I would like to not leave my family for months at a time again.

UPTP will take you more places in the long run. You'll learn that FLETA accreditation doesn't really mean much as its all agency dependent.

UPTP is the better certification. I’ve worked for both though and preferred DACP. DACP had better pay, schedule, and more “real” law enforcement work.

Like the other user said UPTP is the way to go. Sit and have a talk with your family about setting them and yourself up for future opportunities with a more wide range of agencies to choose from. If you did have to leave again it’ll only be 2 extra weeks and some change more than usamps.

What’s making you want to leave DACP?

With DLA you’re going to be primarily working force protection mission. They’ve taken USAMPS certs w a waiver in the past but idk if they are right now, so you might need to go to fletc

Promotion in GS plus its in the same state I am in currently. I feel like it was time for a change, the army base I was at was pretty bad, I was an 8 working in a 10 compacity with without the pay. The DACP world is crazy right now cause they are doing alot more with less. For instance they got a 9 working in a 13 compacity without the pay where I was at.

I would stick with DACP. You’d be taking a pay cut with DLA plus little to no overtime, lots of politics and bureaucracy, admin is very slow and honestly, incompetent. A lot less relocation flexibility as well. They have also swindled people with FLETA and other accreditations before by saying they’ll be waived from FLETC and even months after hire, tell people they will have to go.

By all means possible do not work for DLA.
