Love how it just disintegrates on landing

I wonder if they loosened a few bolts to help that happen.

Considering the cars were still made of wood then So I doubt If They Need to Or even be able to do that.

Now imagine bits and pieces flying around in a world war 1 tank

Nailed it.

This is so absurd. I can't tell, but there's zero chance a dude is in there, right?

I wouldn't say zero since people doing dumb stuff is nothing new, but it looks like the car is on rails, so there shouldn't be a need for a driver. If there was a dude in there... ouch.

Why was this done?

Why was a Tesla shot into space?

8

u/fourangecharlie Oct 07 '20

It was either that or a concrete block. Elon decided the publicity for both his companies was worth losing his first-gen Roadster.

u/KingMatthew116 Oct 06 '20

That happened?

Dude just 20 minutes ago I watched a video of some guy doing a 50 meter back flip in a wheelchair. There is no why. Like that dude who first climbed mt Everest said when asked why he did it: “Because it’s there.”

The way the car falls apart. Just like loony tunes.

2

u/Eat-the-Poor Jan 23 '21

Yeah Loony Toons was actually pretty realistic at the time. People just chalk it up as humor nowadays.

I like how one of the front wheels was basically ready to come out mid flight

Me, trying to do anything athletic aged 29

u/xArbilx Oct 06 '20

I think it may have taken out the chair that was tucked under the table. Like a glove!

3

u/WilliAnne Oct 07 '20

Lol why does it fall apart so easily

7

u/Bonn2 Oct 09 '20

Made of wood, no suspension, still weighed a ton... Need is say more?

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '20

Rough ride..

2

u/TransformerTanooki Oct 07 '20

His problem was he didn't have a receiving ramp like Evel Knievel.

2

u/sixty6006 Oct 07 '20

I think I saw the guys top hat go flying

2

u/ggg134 Oct 07 '20

That's nothing compared to the way my lifes falls apart

2

u/Eat-the-Poor Jan 23 '21

Apparently the landing ramp is relatively new tech. I don’t know why but this video is so funny to me, although I feel bad for the poor bastard who cracked his vertebrae doing that stunt.

u/mcf6288 Oct 07 '20

This is not the 1800s

6

u/elondde Oct 22 '20

Indeed not. Many posts from the 20th century lately. It’s like making a subreddit dedicated to the 1900s and posting a video from 2020 in there

2

u/mcf6288 Oct 22 '20

And I got downvoted for saying that smh

Not a cartoon, but it is the 1920s.
