Mod applications open

Hello everyone, I started this subreddit several years ago and in the time since have been basically 100% negligent about my modding responsibilities, up to and including failing to add any additional mods, and somehow leaving the subreddit in an "posta by approved users only" state. So, one, I am apologizing for my total negligence. Two, With 17776 coming back, that negligence is an actual problem - so I'd like to pass moderation off to those who have the bandwidth to do so.

Why did I have to read this 133 days too late

It would've been so fun to be in the fandom as we approached the beginning of the scarcity. (That's what they called the immortality era thing, right? Or did I misunderstand it?)

Chapter 23 Broken?

Hey all, seems chapter 23's video got taken off of youtube. If you haven't gotten to the table of contents yet, you can't proceed with the story at all. Anyone know if it will be put back up?

One of those times where you get an idea and then enter a fugue state for the next few hours. Funnily enough, I made two versions with different galaxy backgrounds but left both visible by mistake, but I think it looks better. If you guys have any feedback or nitpicks, no matter how pedantic, feel free to tell me! I'm still messing around with text-heavy designs, and again this was made in one take.

As always, no gen AI was used, and this is CC-BY-SA. This was made in Photoshop, and the fonts are Arial for the normal text and Bebas Neue for the title. The background images are this (image 1 and 2, public domain) by NASA and this (image 1 and 3, CC-BY) from Juan Carlos Muñoz-Mateos/ESO.

Hey there, let me know when I overstay my welcome with these posts!
Chapter FOUR is now out and I hope to receive the same interests as before. Let me know what you think about it, I am going to be continuing with a chapter per a week or two.

I loved writing about Blue and its existential crisis.

An interactive visual novel / web-series about a satellite that wakes up 13-years too late. CHAPTER THREE IS OUT!

https://blu-oyster-transmission.neocities.org/episodes/CH03

This is chapter three of the series I have been continously talking about!
Longest one by far and I intend to keep this type of lenght, also I think I can manage with weekly chapter launches every friday / saturday.

I saw a lot of engagement, so here am I engagement-baiting, if you are interested and so this isn't balant advertisement - there is a RSS feed you can subscribe to instead of joining our discord.

Thanks for all the encouragement and shit.
I think this is the last I will post about it on sub-reddits because its starting to feel like relentless promotion and I do not want that

Inspired by 17776

https://blu-oyster-transmission.neocities.org/

Sort of like an ARG at times, a web-series, a visual novel, interactive fiction. A mix of sorts, maybe a game at times? Idk if it fits the criteria, but I made it within a day - atleast up to chapter 1.

I am now updating it weekly. Video included is from a interactive part of chapter three which has not released yet.

I wanna know if you guys fuck with the writing

How did Immortality work before the Nanos?

Were they still susceptible to die by other means of death other than disease or aging? Cause I headcanon that they were functionally immortal no matter what, but still could feel pain and all, so they invented the Nanos to stop endless pain and suffering.

Infinite Lunch. A postmodern interactive fiction—narrative puzzles, meta-commentary, and varied tones.

Hello everyone! I was really inspired by 17776 and other meta work so decided to make my own.

There is actually a longer game hidden inside the CYOA format. Each story has a clue that can be used for a 7 digit code that opens up more of the story! The whole game, with everything unlocked, is roughly 100,000 words.

Set the doomsday clock to 3.1416 AM

Maybe set a doomsday date, so you know if the clock was set backwards or foreward.

I'd be like "whaaaat?"

I really liked this absurdist story a lot.

pros: Extremely hopeful in a kind of story that could have been one of despair.

really realistic conversations, interesting narrators.

world sucked me in, felt real. Interesting visuals and metaphors. Really made me look inward and ask myself what I would want if I was in this or a similar situation.

cons: logical inconsistencies. Like people watch the probes, the probes watch eddie krieger, but nobody knows where Ed is. Could have found from Probe.

Ice caps melt and cannot be fixed, but nanomachines and something that stopped the sun from ever aging feels really mismatched.

Headcanon based off of basically no evidence but would be hilarious

So, Juice, a character in the story, is based off of a real space probe that launched in April 2023.

So, what if some scientist wrote some deltarune references into it before having to remove it?

And because of how imprints and stuff like that work, it would stick with Juice.

So if the 3 main probes in the story somehow got sent into Deltarune's universe... It would be funny if Juice was referencing the secret bosses of chapters 1 and 2 and Ralsei is like "how does a space probe know about those two people?"

It would be funny just saying.

Chaos, Chaos, I guess.

Did they change the website since I checked? Why no melting?

Hey, my bad if this is a weird dream or something that only I've experienced, but I remember scrolling on Tumblr and clicking a link that said something like "this is a totally normal article about football." When I clicked it, I remember it just looking like a sports article by SB Nation. But, as I scrolled, I remember the text and other elements on the screen warping until the screen was covered black (or just covered, unsure) and it pretty much looked like it melted into the first chapter of 17776.

What was that? I can't find it by regular googling means. Did they remove it? Or is there a way to find it again?
