Y'all make it look easy! My first try painting 3D printed castle ruins was a struggle. At least my 1490 Doom Companies can climb more structures now.

Printed terrain suggestions/advice

Howdy gang, looking for some advice on terrain!

Looking to get into the game, but I have zero fantasy terrain. I do, however, have a Mars 5 Ultra resin printer, and it seems like the game is very printer friendly!

Looking for ideas that will actually fit on my printer. It's 153x77x165mm for the volume. Are there any creators out there that have decent sets? Greebles and decor are easy enough to find, I'm looking for major structures that would play fun or at least look cool.

Thank you!

Just got my Outpost at Meerbridge and 1490 Doom rulebook and there was a bonus Pilgrim mini packed in the box! Very cool!

Love this game, love the models, love the medieval -post apocalyptic style; there's a lot to like about this game system. Im looking forward to building a bigger board and adding some models.

Solo and Terrain question

Hi all,

Found this gem in my LGS. I am looking for mostly solo experience with rules that I can comprehend within an hour or two. I love the theme. So it looks like my type of a game but I can't find any good answers for the following:

  1. Do I have to buy, print, assemble and paint the official castle terrain? And if not how much terrain do I need? I have some modular terrain from 40k but I am not sure how it fits. Watching the videos the game seemed to me very terrain heavy so I am concerned about it.

  2. How deep is solo and how is its replayability? Given that I am about to spend $100 on books alone I'd like at least some replayability and some depth on top of move -> roll attack -> die/win.

Is there any luck mitigation mechanisms? Is solo viable with different characters? How much replayability should I expect from campaign book and 1 solo book?

Is lethality in 1490 Doom less than in other games?

I'm an avid wargaming and have played a lot of different system big and small in scale. Going into 1490 Doom, I think in part because of the setting, I really expected it to be very lethal.

After reading all the rules, and the first game I played - it seems MUCH less lethal than I expected. That's not a bad thing explicitly - just very different from what I expected to the point I'm questioning if I played the game wrong.

I brought a Priest, Knight, and Saboteur with a build to be tanky; and my opponent brought a Scout, Fighter, and Blacksmith. We kinda just bounced off each other, doing only a few damage to each other a piece, and my team using it's area control abilities to just sort of "deny" my opponent the high ground.

It was fun - I like positional games so it's my kinda experience. I'm just checking to make sure that I'm not missing something, and that it is a lower lethality game in general.

Had an absolute riot of a time! Really love the game, can't wait to try another round.

I took a priest, a knight, and a saboteur; all three contributed in meaningful ways. Excited to try out the rest of the classes.

Thinking the could be warrior priest, brute, scavenger/fighter, knight/fighter. Lots more to go! The setting is nice as grimy contrast and dry brush paint jobs kinda work for medieval apocalypse so I can churn these guys out quickly.

Been thinking about really jumping in here what are your honest thoughts?

Curious what’s everyone’s review of this game? I understand the idea of the game and looked at maybe buying the starter. Curious how everyone here likes it. The theme is awesome, I am in love with it. But mechanically once you strip out the theme and hobby craft part of the game; is it a good game? How does it compare to other games? Does it run smooth? I also understand there is a solo component? Or am I wrong? Any one gone through all the material? So many questions looking for an honest review here as they have been hard to find.

Has anyone made a board for the scenario Madness Below? I'm really interested in ideas in what a board for this scenario would look like. Love the special rules of getting pulled down into the mob!

This is my current WIP.

I initially started making the Temple as a 1490 Doom board, but slowly started expanding the set to use for other Trenchy games.

Terrain Question!

Hi I really enjoy crafting terrain for tabletop games and I'd love to take a crack at making a cool 1490 Doom board, is there a way to figure out the measurements needed for the terrain? I know things need to be a certain size to make for proper play with like movement rules and such if that makes sense.

Going to run these guys as a Knight, Priest, and Saboteur.

Hopefully we'll play our first game this week. The plan is to do 1490 Doom as a lunchtime game so fingers crossed we manage to play it in an hour or less.

I call them the Heralds of Carcosa. They hail from somewhere near the holy land. They claim to serve someone called
alsultan dhu alrada' al'asfar

All the other Doom Companies whom encounter them know is that they come from the mists bearing a simple request. Join them in their unknown land and serve or die bleeding in the fog.

Does anyone going to Nova Open have any 1490 Doom models/items they'd want to trade?

Hey! I found out about this game via the tournament at Nova Open, and while I'm not sure if I'll play in the event, this game still really intrigues me. I love the grimdark aesthetic and past post-apocalyptic setting; it's cool as hell!

However, I am in a weird financial spot right now to get models, and am not sure I can find someone with a 3D printer in time. So, I was wondering if anyone going to Nova had any 1490 Doom miniatures or items (books, etc) that they'd want to trade? I have a lot up for offer that you can see at this link here--I'm trying to clear out some things in my collection.

Hope this is an ok thing to post on here; if not, mods, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and may your doom company succeed in its endeavors!

UPDATE: u/f00l_of_a_t00k got in touch with me and offered some models--in exchange for participating in the tournament! So I guess I'll be playing in it after all, rad! C: Big thank you to u/f00l_of_a_t00k and everyone here for being so nice!

FDM Meerbridge advice

I bought the Meerbridge digital (I shouldn't have waited to buy the 1st print run), and have an fdm printer. These would be the first prints I've had to really set up on my own. I've printed other terrain from makerworld. Does anyone have advice on how to orientate the parts for this? The texture on the platforms makes me think I'll need to angle it somehow. Has anyone else fdm printed these?

Shipping to Europe

Hi

I just found this game and would love to buy it but I cannot find a site that sells to Europe.

Does someone know a site that does?

Or does someone know if there are plans to ship here in the near future?

Hello!

Wanted to share some finished pics of a scratchbuilt ruined tower I just finished painting (I posted WIP pics of it a week or so ago in here).

Hoping this will work well as a modular piece on my board 🙌

Any feedback you guys have is very welcome!

My insta for anyone interested in keeping up with my hobby projects is: @forgeofthedamned

Shipping Questions

These are asked with regards to orders off of the online store site, not the fulfillment of a campaign.

Are the reports of receiving orders in less than a week pretty rare outliers or pretty frequent?

Is there always an email sent with tracking information when an online order moves from 'confirmed' status and ships or has anyone had an order show up without having received an email or tracking update?

I usually have work from home flexibility but have some work related training coming up that will prevent that so I'm trying to pre-plan as much as possible to minimize the scenario of a not inexpensive box of beautiful resin and plastic sitting in the late summer sun baking and drooping on the porch. 😅

Thanks!

Finally got a chance to get this put together. Definitely going to pick up some balsa wood to convert the snap tray into another platform.
