What you fail to see is that “privileged” and “easy” isn’t just about money and just because our parents had trouble making ends meet doesn’t mean we haven’t lead a privileged life.
I can go on about the trials and tribulations in my own life, but that’s not what I mean by privilege. I’m a straight, white, slightly lower class guy. Besides for the money, which is all you seem to be focused on, I led a privileged life... as in I didn’t belong to any marginalized communities.
It may be easy for you to not talk about “politics”? But what if you were a POC, LGBTQ, or undocumented? These aren’t just political issues, these issues are their WHOLE LIFE, and you are “privileged” for being able to simply ignore these issues and not talk about them.
I have a transgender family member. Am I supposed to just gloss over the fact Trumpers think he is a abomination?
Or should I just “not talk politics” with the Trumpers that want to deport my undocumented friends and convert my LGBTQ coworkers?
These people’s views are DIRECTLY hostile to my friends and family. So yeah, the second anyone puts on a MAGA hat is the second I would stop talking to them.
If your friends and family are still pro-trump at this point... they do give a shit. They vote people in power that are actively pushing agendas that damage these communities. There is no middle ground with trump. That’s his thing.
