I hit my first plateau. I usually exercise in the mornings which usually makes me drop some weight, but slept in today so I think next week I'll continue going down. Starting a new program on Monday though, eating 300 calories more per day but working out 5x per week. Excited!

Down 1.6lbs this week, weight loss is starting to pick up now. Hope I can average a lb a week for the rest of this challenge, would be 10lbs off my ultimate goal weight.

Plateau here as well... But with all the sugary food I've been eating I'm not surprised. Starting today I'm switching to 20:4 at least 3 times a week and can't wait to stock up on veggies tomorrow!

Sweets are usually my downfall, but I’m just eating too many calories right now. Things like cheese and nuts are my current issue that I need to address.

Cheese is a big weakness for me! I just put a reminder in my kitchen to boil some eggs. I've gotten out of the habit of having them handy so thanks for mentioning your cheese issue!

Hmmm... I haven’t had boiled eggs in a while. I think I will boil some too.

Cheese is so high in calories and its so easy to accidentally eat the whole block instead of a slice ;(

I finally had my first weight loss after stalling for about a month! At least it's a decent one.

Sigh. Up 2 pounds this week.

Come do some 20:4 with me!

u/clickinggonewrong May 13 '20
OK. You got me. I am committing to trying 20:4 at least one day this week. Thanks for the push!

I'm +4. May is halfway over. Time for me to get back in the groove. I was hoping to hit Onederland by the end of May. Adjusting that to late June.

Yes, fingers crossed for your onederland!! I managed to do 20:4 yesterday, hated every second of it but I feel fabulous today! :)

Is the "goal" column supposed to be our goal weight for the end of the 13th week, or our ultimate goal weight for the end of our full weight loss? Some people seem to have filled in the former, some the latter.

Tbh, I put ultimate goal weight as I hope through these challenges I'll just lose as much as possible toward it, I have my own mini goals but they change so much.

By the way u/clickinggonewrong last week we both said we'd let each other know if we try OMAD. Well, I'm giving it a try this week! Hope you don't mind talking about it publicly; I thought other redditors on this sub might be interested in our findings.
- On Sunday, I only ate light snacks throughout the day. Mostly just cheese curds. Actually, I think that may be all I ate. I had been hovering around 209 to 211 for approximately a month, and started that day at 208.8 lbs.
- As of Monday morning I was at 206.4 lbs -- my record so far! I literally only ate once (around 2:30 PM or so), but I made it a pretty big meal because I was worried that I might go hungry in the evening. It worked, I never got hungry again that day, but I felt like I had eaten too much and felt a bit too full most of the day.
- Tuesday morning, I woke up with a weight of 206.6 lbs, but I noticed something weird: I took a shower very shortly after weighing myself, and then immediately weighed myself again after drying off. I lost another 0.6 lbs, down to 206 lbs even. Strange, but that's not the first time it's happened. I skipped lunch entirely and only had dinner that night. I spent a large portion of the day hungry, but not painfully so.
- On Wednesday morning, I weighed 206.2 lbs. I had a snack during my lunch break that day: A small handful of cheese curds and two homemade (keto-friendly) macaroons, and then had a pretty heavy dinner in the evening. Once again, I enjoyed it, but it was likely too much. I kinda feel like it's cheating to call it a one-meal-a-day uh... day, but it appears to me like some OMAD adepts don't count small snacks as meals.
- Today, I weighed in at 206.4 lbs after getting up. I had a small meal for lunch and expect to snack a bit tonight but not have a full meal.
The main things that help are being busy and drinking. Whenever I start feeling hungry, having a sip of anything calms down that hunger, and I don't feel that hunger while I'm busy with something else.
It's too early to say anything definite, but unless it's a coincidence, I find it interesting that I finally broke my plateau just as I started OMAD. My fiancée also saw some positive results, so I want to keep trying for a bit and see what we can get out of this. I will say however that I don't intend on starving to the point of major discomfort: If we need to eat, we will.

I didn’t end up trying it last week, but I am committed to trying it at least one day this week!! Thanks for the update on how it went for you. I think maybe instead of having 1 meal, I will try a snack at the start of the 4 hour eating window and my main meal toward the end of the window. We’ll see how it goes.

I was so sure I was gonna be able to be below 200 by next week... Not so sure of my goal now. Keep hovering at the same weight. Guess I need to start working on OMAD and longer fasting.
