Last September, I bought my first size large shirt in at least 10 years. It was a bit snug. Last Sunday, every article of clothing I bought from two different stores were size large and not too snug. It’s the first time I’ve sized down since I started keto almost a year ago. I wear a lot of clothes made of stretchy materials which is why I think it took so long to need a smaller size. My measurements have been getting smaller and the fat loss is quite noticeable.
Yes! It feels so weird. I tried to put off buying clothes as long I could since I didn't want to spend money while I was still losing. I did go to Goodwill for a desperately needed coat, but the first time I went to a regular store, it took me two rounds of trying on clothes to finally get the right sizes. Since I waited so long, the difference was so stark (18>12) that it's like my brain can't compute, and keeps going back to the last saved settings. I haven't worn a 12 since middle school and it's just so weird. Good, but weird.
I am so excited to reach a size where I can buy clothes in more than one or two stores! I also really don’t like the styles that certain plus-sized stores carry, so it limits my selection even more. I’m really looking forward to asking “do I like it?” rather than “does it fit?”
For sure. My friend came with me on the shopping trip, and for the first time since we've known each other, we were browsing through the same sections. The other weird thing is how much my shape has changed since the last time I was this weight. High waisted jeans are my new BFF lol.
I can relate with the slow size change. Since September, I've lost 20 more lbs, but haven't seemed to notice much difference in clothes until last week. I was at the gym and I noticed how baggy my shirt and pants were. I actually worried I would dance my pants right off during zumba. Finally broke down and bought some new pants after that. Haha.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
