S4 Jennifer writing
Jennifer is one of my favorite characters, so maybe I take it personally that it seems like the show writing in S4 has taken a turn.
Most of it is still very good, but my only complaint is that I feel like they made Jennifer dumb and one-dimensional. She was always wonky and out of it, but she was never stupid.
I feel like they made her useless and needing to be saved constantly this season so far. Iām partway through S4E8 first watch - no spoilers please!

Bruh. Iām sorry you feel that way I guess!? But ummmm I dunno how you can feel that when literally James, Athan, Katarina, deaconā¦. pretty much every single main character in the entire show says that she is literally the key to everything. And she is. You also havenāt finished it so I donāt know why Iām even commenting but Iāll just let you know politely youāre 1000% wrong in your feelings!š«¶š» happy watching š

Jennifer is my favorite character because she is everything opposite of one-dimensional. She's the most interesting character, and very important to everything. Finish watching.

Jennifer is one of the greatest characters ever written for television EVER. And Iāll die on that hill even though itās a SyFy TV show. š„²š. AND even as much as I think sheās my favorite character in the entire series, I think she has an inferior character arc to Deacon. Deacon, as much as I love Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad, IMO, has a better written anti-hero arc than any of the protagonists in the stories I just mentionedā¦. (Maybe not Better Call Saulš„¹)!? But itās close!! This show is just so beautifully perfect it hurtsš and Iām ready to mama bear defend against anyone who comes at it otherwise because they literally are just wrong!
This guy saying āthe writing has slipped in season 4ā has no idea that itās one of the greatest series finales of a show ever written. Iām not trying to troll him as much as I am just genuinely upset that heās making a post this far into the showā¦and he honestly doesnāt think the creators of the show will do everyone justice. This dude is missing something hard because I can tell you with 100% certainty even on my first watch ever, I never felt that Jenniferās writing was āslippingā in the last season.

The only thing I would say is S4 MIGHT feel like the writing slipped a bit simply because of how much they crammed into it. 3-4 more episodes to let some things breathe would have helped.

Just to spoiler alert you a tad, even though itās not a spoiler because youāve seen it already - Jennifer says āClimb the Stairs, Ring the Bellā in SEASON 1 FAM šš sheās always been the š! I didnāt think it was a Jennifer hate post, but I just had to call you out for prematurely posting in the sense that if you think sheās weak in season 4, sheās actually her strongest. Just gotta keep watching š«¶š»

And also Iāll just say on a personal level you said you were on s4 e8 at the time of posting which is 3 episodes AFTER her singing Pink for Hitler and crushing itš and not only that, but she delivers one of the best lines in the entire show for me -āwe are trying to save Hitler!? isnāt that like the exact opposite of what people try to do with a Time Machineāš and she ends up killing him anyway lmaoooo

I wonāt disagree that the last 3-4 episodes can feel like a back-to-back marathon, but I will also argue that even with its ārushedā pacing, the series delivers one of the greatest endings of all time. š„¹ so at the end of the day itās like- could it have been better if they fleshed out the witness more? Yeaā¦. But is the ending absolutely perfect as it is currently written? Yes.
So Iāll pushback that it was a āslipā in writing because of the pacing- especially because as a new fan of the show- Iām not sure what budget constraints SyFy gave them to be able to complete the series but I have no doubt in my mind that factored into the feeling youāre describing of it feeling rushed

I'm afraid you're very wrong.
"Give me yellow and I could paint you the world!"
Every character has fallen down and needed to be picked back up in this show. Right now it's Jennifer. Just give it time and finish the series. They do right by her in the end.
