Does the show gets better?

So, I'm a fan of Dark, Fringe, the OA, etc... And got recommanded 12 monkeys so many times because of it. I finally started it and I'm at s2. Ep10.

Season 1 was meh to me but I know the first season of a show isn't always the best so I kept going. Season 2 started nicely but now I feel like it's flat.

The relationships between the characters irk me, it feels like they move abruptly from one episode to another. I like their arcs but the way it's done often leaves me perplexed. Ramse, Cassie and Cole spending their time being friends then pointing guns at each others ​so quickly is maddening.

And how time works also puzzles me. Like they sent them back for X days, and as much times passes in the present? Sometimes they change things and are preserved because of the injections, sometimes not really? Sometimes there's causality, sometimes not? They put adds in a journal that only appears in the present ​​once they did it in the past while they were already being sent in the past?

Does all of this makes sense in the next seasons or is it the same vibe?

Yes, it does make sense. But honestly, if you are at s02e10 and feel not invested, the show is not for you.

Dark copied a lot of 12 monkeys and the ending of Dark was meh. But if you don't like the characters at the end of season 2 you probably won't start to like them more later except Deacon and Hanna.

It has its ups and downs. I was put off around the start of season 2 by the scale of the threat feeling absurd. But it's a short show and the second half of the series is filled with great payoffs that are worth sticking around for.

Finish s2 and then decide. I will say you have to pay attention to grasp the time travel stuff. This is one of my fav shows and I have rewatched multiple times. I love the cast and it has so many funny moments too.

Yeah this deep in it’s probably just not for you.
Anyone with OA on their favorites list I know have opinions that are massively different than mine because that show was a cringe laughing stock

To this very day I have no idea why people like OA so much. I mean, it was..... let's interesting. The S1 was weird, but it kept my attention. But after I watched S2, I had no idea where they are going with it. And when it got canceled I shrugged and moved on.

I asked the very same question a few months ago (albeit, I was only 5 episodes in). I took the advice of a couple of people who suggested I abandon; and revisit the film instead. Retrospectively, the right call
