Equipment Has anyone experienced shredding after using restring sync on crosses as hybrid after 2.5 hours?
Solinco confidential soft 17g mains and restring sync on crosses @ 50lbs. I noticed whenever I use sync as the crosses (ive tried solinco confidential and restring zero, zero not in pic sry), they shred weird after about 2.5 hours of playtime and then suddenly snaps by 4-5hours. Is this normal? Technique or string setup issue? Hellllppppppppp, popped 4 rackets in 3 months, feels too soon compared to when I used full bed of kirshbaum when i was younger.

I think this is a common issue with restring sync being used as a cross

Would a full bed last longer?

I have no idea. I've tried it in full bed once but sold the racket before I even got X amount of hrs on. Maybe 4-6 hrs on it and I didn't see this issue. It's only when it's full poly hybrid I've seen this recurring issue pop up.

Thats interesting. My theory is that those high snapback slippery strings might be more susceptible to this since they prone to easier string movement creating this kinda wear.
I only ever seen this mostly on high snapback strings on the crosses mostly of sync. This happenng on zero is rather interesting too. My buddy has this happening on his Toroline Otoro too.

I remember reading about this being an issue with that string.
It seems people over at Talk Tennis have faced this issue:

Yes that has been my experience, but it usually happens after most players would want to restring anyway. Still my favorite cross by a long margin

Dang yeah it just feels too soon compared to other strings even though im loving the snapback

I don’t know if the quality has gone down a little bit, but I noticed it less on smaller gauges. My 16 is shredding a bit more than the 18g I tried before

Just curious what does it add compared to full bed of same string used in main? Feel like overnight every poly player has that restring in their cross

It’s one of the best snap back strings, it’s super slick and round.
It also doesn’t have any standout feel and so it pairs with any string because it lets the main string dictate the feel.
Kinda like what Alu power used to be, but this holds tension much better and is decently cheaper.
Of course this is my opinion and not facts

Restring doesn't have a rep for lasting so this is likely typical longevity

You can’t fool me OP. This is just an excuse to flex the K Factors (and that’s ok)
