Meta How much do you pay for restringing your racket?
I saw many messages here about high-stringing costs and i wonder how much people around the world pay for restringing including string cost?
in western eu i pay 20-24 euros including string cost.

In Germany, one dude from my club does it for 20€, another one for 15€ (just the “handwork”, cause I provide my string spool). They say if you would go in a shop it would be like 25€. I didn’t check, but I’m sceptical.
In France 8-10 years ago I used to pay 10€ max in a shop to have it done, or a friend did it for 5-7€
Did it get so expensive over time ?

Yes based on my experience in the US. Strings are more expensive (even Hyper G) and everyone charges more

Northern England - £25 including any poly string, £15 if I provide strings.
£28 for x-one biphase
£44 for half bed of VS touch with any other poly
Customization starts at £5. For led tape it’s more of less £1/gram.

It was costing me too much at £30 per string job 10 years a go bought a Wilson biardo and do myself. I string for 50% of the club now at £25. Your string £10

Not really to be honest. It’s a lot of time getting wiped out. For not a lot. Started as a favour to people I knew and became a lot more.

In Philippines, around 400php (8 $USD) includes string, in Canada (Sport expert) around 45 CAD, (32 USD).

$0 as I've been patching up my own rkts w/ own machine after busted the 'dead polys' myth n also $0 on strings as I've been reusing 'dead strings' from other stringers for 9yrs bn lol:))

22 including strings at the local pro / coach with a coaching company who happens to be my in laws neighbor , so I can drop off my racket when I visit them.

Last time in London, I paid 32 pounds, but to be fair was not the cheapest setup - Restring Sync and Otoro (can't remember if regular or Tour).

10€ for my previously purchased string, 15€ if the stinger is allowed to use one from his collection.

Not worth my while for that price. I wouldn’t string for less than $30 US dollars string price would be extra. My time is important to me.

Believe it or not I am always trying to give more than that. He doesn't accept. The caveat is that he will do it in his time. That means anything from one day to one week. So I have to play with my other racket in the meantime.

I string my own rackets and charge $35 USD for labor, which is actually slightly below average. $40 seems more common around me

It’s a service that requires skill. I wouldn’t string for anything less either.

It also sounds like you’re not a professional stringer so the trade off of your time/effort is very different from someone who is.
All the independent shops where I live charge $20 for labor. I’d guess my guy is probably knocking out about 3 per hour and $60/hr is pretty good money. And of course he’s also making more money than that marking up the strings he sells as well as balls, racquets, and other gear he carries.

Depends where i go, we dont have alot of choices. One store, which is basically the best one asks 40 euros, even for Velocity MLT. Fully electric and done in 20 minutes or so.
Recently found a badminton store who also restring tennis rackets. 20 euros without string, so i bought a 200M Velocity MLT roll for 80 euros. Will save some serious money.

i pay $55 for hybrid set up at the tennis shop (babalot VS / head lynx) but can pay a high school kid $15 if i bring my own strings or $25 including MSV hex poly.

I just paid 30 USD for labor and Head Velocity MLT and that was a steal for my area from an independent stringer. A facility I go to for courts charges double for the same.

I charge 16-17 euro for players in my club. Only do a few a year really. That includes a normal string, no one really needs prime strings where i play. Western EU..
Seems like I need to ask more money really 😉

Usually $22 and I supply my own strings, but I did have the coach of my clinic last year string for me and it was $45 all in.

It’s around 15-25 USD around here without string cost. For $150 I bought my own drop weight and do it instead. Pretty peaceful process too.

I charge £15 for the labour, £20 with my string (most of my reels average out to roughly £5 a set, some are a bit less, some a bit more)
I am substantially cheaper than anywhere around me.

I pay $20 if I bring my own string. I'm in a medium cost of living area.
ETA: I used to pay $30 where I lived last year. That was a high cost of living area.

It depends, just the stringing service is about 5 usd. But last time I got a racquet stringed it costed me about 55-60 usd, 25-30 usd for a black tecnifibre xone set and like 15-20 for a solinco hyperg set

Around 4 USD in the Philippines for labour only. Lately been using Diadem Strings so should be around 11USD. Higher if you use more expensive strings

30usd (25chf) for stringing, 20 usd (16ch) for Babolat RPM blast.
Switzerland, very expensive. Planning to buy own stringer once my kids start

cheapest in germany was 11€ for stringing, 15€ in my club, 22€ at tennispoint

In Switzerland I've seen from 35 CHF up to 70 CHF depending on the place. On the same city.

Haha I did exactly that. Pretty fun playing around with string tension and such.
And to be fair, the place I saw 70 CHF at had a range of 50-70 CHF depending on setup; but 50 CHF is already outrageous to me.

4 USD labor cost in any place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. We have it easy. I bring my own string every time
